This is a story I found here at Sci-Fi.com
The Motion Picture Association of America and the National Association of Theatre Owners announced that five arrests have been made for illegal camcording of Transformers in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois and New York, Variety reported.
The first arrest was made in the Bronx, with the defendant being the first to be charged under an amended law that increases penalties for illegal camcording, with the defendant facing up to six months' imprisonment, fines up to $5,000 and a civil penalty up to $5,000.
The other arrests involved camcording using a camera/video phone in El Centro, Calif.; a cell phone in Addison, Ill.; a camera in Orlando, Fla.; and a camera in Lawrenceville, Ga.
The organizations said the camcorders supply more than 90 percent of newly released movies that illegally end up on the Internet and in street markets.

It's still illegal, regardless of the content...

There was already a thread on this
http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewto ... 10609&sid=
and so I'll just say what I said in the other thread.
Only 5 arrests.
Thats not that great, seeing as how I'm looking at a buttload of TF movie torrents at a certain website I frequent.
Ah well, maybe they'll crack down a lot more on pirating movies. Then us pirates will have to resort to different methods to evolve the pirating process.

Most of these people are doing it not so they can watch it again but so that they can sell copies to the video piracy syndicates. It's a lot of money for them, but peanuts to the pirate syndicates.
We have a big problem in Asia, and there are a lot of people who would actually buy these pirated VCDs or DVDs and don't mind that it's blur, that there are idiots talking at the back of the theater, or goons standing up and down like freaking yoyos in the front. I first learnt of this 12 years ago when I naively bought a Star Trek video from a Malaysian stallholder and played it after I returned home.
I do have to say I'm astonished that some of these people can actually record on a handcam a TWO AND A HALF HOUR movie without moving much.

I thought there was one.. Thanks.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).
