That megs is pretty bad, if it had the actual shape of an M1 it might be better, the turret is especially poor. The robot hands look like a legions class figure and don't have rotation or fold away. Looks like parts might turn into a spear. Not sure if I'd pick up a g2 colored version but probably will to with the tr and artic megs.

Smokescreen, yay it doesn't suck like the siege versions though it's very close to the siege mold and finally cthru plastic headlights that make the car mode look better like with the classics versions.

If Prowl and co. are being redone in Earthrise, I just may get 'em. I know Seige was practically Earth modes already, but I couldn't look past the Cybertronian glyphs.

Megatron is nice and all, but Seige is just as good. And I still like my 3rd party Hegemon who's everything I want in a Megatron. So he's a pass. Gotta say, though, it seems as though Seige Prime and Megs are missed opportunities. They're so G1. And the follow up is just a different sort of G1, just closer to what you'd expect? What an odd choice. With the benefit of hindsight I'd have rather had Super Megatron as a Cybertronian Megatron and Orion Pax as Prime or maybe Alpha Trion / A3. Or .... just something a bit more different than what we had.

Was hoping for more out of EarthRise Megatron but it doesn't look that much different from Siege. Even the transformation appears to be very similar. Tired of those tank modes, they should have gone with a gun. In this scale and aesthetic no one would mistake it for a real deal. Or at least a cannon of some sort like Galvatron.
He has a better deco than ER Prime though. Still holding off for an edition with better paint for that one.

Looks like I will be passing on megs and the datsuns this time around. The only way I can see re-purchasing any of those after getting them in siege is on a steep discount from Amazon or Walmart.

So far on the new reveals for me:
Skip completely or wait for steep discount: Arcee, Megs, Smokescreen (and the inevitable other datsuns)
Please take my money: Fasttrack, Sky Lynx, Scorponok

Megatron looks to be a retool of the Siege version. Smokescreen looks like a new mold, but one that does the exact same things as the Siege mold, just with a slightly different alt mode.

One question comes to mind. Why?

Airwave (edit technically the micromasters base and not airwave} was originally airport/airbase (the earth rise for goes the building part which is now a kind of unidentifiable blue mass of sorts), debatable aircraft carrier (now a landship - a ground based aircraft carrier possibly still sea going) and a folded up bunker thing that the micromasters could stand in (sadly not with earthrise as micromasters will just have to stand on him and use it as a turret or gunnery station which is still cool).

But they're both almost the same thing as the Siege versions, just with slightly different alt modes. To make both versions in consecutive lines is entirely pointless. If this is what they wanted to release, why didn't they release these first and be done with it?

The answer, of course, is money. But still.

That's supposedly its airport mode which it just doesn't resemble at all, looks like a barge of some sort to me or a space platform at a push like in robotech. Hoping the colors go more g1ish but that's just me.

That Megatron is... Not great. Happy for those who wanted a clean Siege version, but it just looks so off and the gun turret being a chunk of kibble is so off putting. Siege Megatron wasn't great ny any means, but it was still better than this
