Trouble with the old TF game..

I've had this problem for aaages but I've not done anything about it cos.. I don't know what to do and haven't asked.

I got this "new" PS2 (its not one of the original f-up ones) and the only game it wont play is Transformers. The 2004 (was it?) game. It'll get to the menu fine. It'll get to the loading screen and then when it comes to loading the AutoBase scene, the screen goes blue, then green, then some other colours, with a heap of jumbled pixels everywhere, and still be playing the Autobase theme in the background. No responses from any input with the controller or anything. This isn't my copy of Transformers, I'm now on my second copy of it and both have the same issue.

You can imagine how annoyed I am that the ONLY game that wont play is Transformers =P

I wanna play the old one cos the new one just doesn't cut it for me.

It DID play the game at one point, I just tried it one day and it was fine, I managed to get so far before resetting the console or turning it off for the night, and then next time it was back to the pixels.

Any ideas? The disc is clean and everything, I'm pretty sure thats not it...

Search for it on google groups. If its a common problem might be some sort of fix for it. There might be some sort of list out there of incompatible games. Who knows, if you have the new model, there might be something different about the bios or firmware that just isn't compatible with the Transformers game. Whatever it is its obviously the system
