I have to say Astrotrain is class. Being the first and only triplechanger I have, he is awesomness incarnate. He aint my favourite tf of all time, but he's certainly worth getting.

Redimus wrote:For some reason he seems to have disapeared from the UK wave one. I have no idea if he has been pushed back a wave, or gone the way of E Galvatron, Cyb Red Alert and Cyb CD Scattorshot....

Bumblebee, Starscream, Hot...er Rodimus. :-? Other than Astrotrain, no one else is missing from wave one are they? Because that's who Woolies had in (with Cyb Soundwave and Nemesis Breaker). I hope they got Astrotrain in in their delivery at the weekend, I'm after another one.

EDIT: Woo. We outposted the Michigander's thread. Well done everyone!

Count me in on the "I love astrotrain" club - he was the first classic I bought. Hotrod on the other hand I'm not interested in at all - the goofy arms put me off!

See, Astrotrain is loved! A brill update on a ...ahem... Classic character.

To be honest, I don't think there's anything wrong with any of the Classics figures. Deluxes and above anyway. I will own them all, and they will distract me from any work I may need to do! Go transformers go!

It grieves me to say it but Grimlock is the weakest Classics figure available.

My Tescos has gotten all of wave one of classics in, a slew of Titanium 3" & Classics Minicons. Also have the Prime/Megatron twin pack too.

Phew, so it seems that Woolies may stock Astrotrain after all. It's good news. And he may be the weakest, but I still think Classics Grimlock is a brilliant figure. What put you off him Grim?

Woolies had everyone I listed, but no Astrotrain. So don't get your hopes up just yet. I'm going hunting tommorrow so I will report back if he's appeared.

Half a dinosaur as legs. It looks like knee high boots. Not really Badass. A tail hanging off his back. A shite gun. The beast mode is kinda nice. That's about as positive I can be of him.

As I said before - Classics Grimlock looks like a badly put together Zoid.

Sigh, poor Grimlock can't get no love...
I don't really mind the leg thing, and I can just give him a different gun. So no real problems if you ask me.

No Astrotrain. Nothing at all appeared. :-(
Disgruntlement rising.

As for this Grim discussion that's appeared, I don't have one so I can't say for definate, but the images I've seen of him doesn't look like anything special. He lacks the sense of power that he usually portrays. The legs are alright, but not in comparasion to his upper body. Just my 2 pence.

I have to agree with the majority here, Grimlock is defiantly my least favourite from the deluxe classics. He’s not all that bad, it’s just that he could have been so much better with only a few minor changes. One of my biggest gripes is that he can’t hold his gun as a sword.

On a different note, I’m not to disgruntled at all this week actually.

Primus with Unicron head, Classic Minicons wave 1 and 20th DVD Prime arrived yesterday.

The Minicons aren’t all awesome, but I still quite like them.

This is the first 20th Prime I’ve ever held in my hands (my original 20th and MP are still MISB).

Apart from the talked about bad points of this version of Prime and the dodgy head and shoulder movement, it’s really nice.

Hopefully by the end of the week I’ll be pre-ordering a MP Megs. I think he’ll be packed in robot mode just like all of the MP figures, so customs shouldn’t be a problem.

That is it! Bloody hell! That is IT! That is exactly what Grimlock misses. No raw power. That was a defining part of Grim. Raw power. How did I miss it?

Grimlock has lost that feeling of RAW POWER that he had in the past.

Chaps,

Being my usual tight-fisted self if any of you have not already pre-ordered MP Megs, would any online store offer a discount if a group of us signed up to one shop?

Just an idea, mind...

Oh yeah - I'm not disgruntled but I bet my Missus is as I've got back into collecting again!
