WTF? They said they were getting rid of those smacktarded anime subspace flashing-background transformations. Damn it!
And the loli with the jetpack? Oh hell, no.

I think they might only use those scenes once in the first ep. Then the rest of the time they may jsut use the spinning thing.
Honestly I don't mind the cut scenes, they're like what? 3-4 seconds as opposed to the 10-12 second anime ones?

Because Hasbro knew they would have had a full scale mutiny if they did.

Hmm, pretty sure i saw Swoop in there too.
Looks like all the Dino's are getting in on the action.
Thing that bothers me is the fact that (and its most noticeable with Ratchets transform) that Square blocky machine style edges just puff out and become round 'organic' looking shapes. Especially in the arms/legs.
Interesting angle though, implying that the Autobots are just repair bots. Its always been said that they were the 'peacefull' transformers but never the details of it. What did they do all day? Did they have a function or just lay around writing poetry?

For once, I heard Starscream actually sounding like Starscream!

G1 was riddled with children, and it didn't suck. So whats with all the "omg, not a human child!"
That **** is annoyingly retarded.

If I were simply hearing about it rather than actually seeing it I probably would be pretty excited, because all the G1 (and apparently, pre-BW) aspects sound really great. But then seeing it animated, and with the character designs done in that annoying, sharply-angled faux anime style, it looks extremely disappointing. I can understand the need to simplify and stylize when you're making an action-oriented series; the recent He-Man series managed to do that just fine. But there comes a point where you've gone too far with the simplification and it just looks lazy, and this looks as if it's gone well over that line. It's sad that 20 years after the original series, with all the advancements made in the field of animation, the new series features even less detail and the transformation sequences are even less believable (and I say this as someone who is well aware of the inconsistent and often poor quality of the original series).
I noticed that too. It looks like they're inflating their limbs.

Hmm... Not much I can say at this point, except that a) I adore Screamer's new voice, and b) The art style just doesn't hit it off with me. I've found styles similar to that interesting with other series, but with Transformers, it doesn't seem right for some reason.

The toys have that Armada/cartoonish look, but they don't look to bad, and realy thats about all I care about.
Ratchet has a real cool transformation, but for the most part I didn't like what I saw. I know we've been told "NO Stock Transformations", but anytime I see that Japanesse quick strippie backround, all I think of is repeditive stock, and I loose intrest.
Some of the Decepticons seemed alright, but realy I can't tell yet. That kid with the fire coming out of the back of her head I can already tell is going to be annoying.
Overall, it looks like they could have a real good series here, but I just don't see them realy pushing to make it so. I think with alittle more effort and less reliance on the design style done in other series by this company(TEEN TITANS, BEN10) this could be something cool.
Still, I don't see them going for that extra mile, and feel this series will go the way of all the other series since the beast era!
Still, I'll watch if I should be awake at 6am(you know it's going there), and like with RID, and The Unicron Trilogy, I'm going to focus more on the toys than the episodes.

Ok, now I am intrigued. Still not happy about the odd-shaped bodies, but it looks like it could be an interesting series. I shall be watching for this.

I don't see what the deal is about the stock transformations. Every series has them, even G1. It saves on money to use the same animation as often as possible. It'll be more of a matter of how they use them that will determine how irritating they will be, though.

yeah but G1 never made a huge production out of their transformations...no fancy weird backgrounds, no characters posing and no stopping the show cold for 10-20 seconds to show off the "cool" transformations.....back then (and in beast wars too) they simply just changed

Yes!! The Dinobots!!!!
I hope Prime uses his face plate more than his mouth.
Starscream looks and sounds awesome.
While I won't buy the toys, I'll definetly watch the show.

Looks like it be another one of those cases where I watch it for the non main characters or bad guys since main cast doesn't interest me much on the good side. And what the heck a 5 year old girl now, guess they really take the aiming for younger audiences seriously.
