Want more Jericho
I watched the last episode last night. Already feeling the need for more episodes, but read today that CBS will not make any new episodes. What was wrong with the show? Am I alone here?

It's usually a lack of interest. Some shows click, others don't. That's just how it is. I'm sure you're not alone, however fan interest alone is not going to bring back the show after it's comback failed to bring a desired jump in ratings. Plus it was competing against American Idol and most every idiot watches the contest (I only watch the auditions since that's the only good part)

They did leave it kind of open if a channel like SciFi were to pick it up. I almost want to see what the original ending would have been if it hadn't been canceled.
From what I've read, bad ratings were the downfall of Jericho. The way they collect the ratings needs to be rethought. If everyone had a Neilson (spelling?) box, it would be an approprate and ballanced way to judge how many veiwers a show has.
I am at the point now where I don't even want to start watching a new show until it has been on for a couple of seasons. Almost every new show that I've enjoyed over the past few years ends up canceled. Invasion, Surface, Daybreak, Journeyman, and now Jericho.
I no longer have a reason to tune into CBS anymore. I can get my CSI fix from Spike instead.

I agree with Grahf about watching new shows. I started watching Jericho through Netflix. Hard enough to keep up with a network schedule, especially working a swing shift. I also hope someone like sci-fi picks this up and run it for several more seasons.

This is a testament to CBS stupidity.
When Jericho first started it rated high, then went on the Christmas break. They decided "hey, this is a good show, let's bring it back against American Idol!"
Suffice to say it failed, so they blamed it on the public not tuning in. Never mind the fact they put it up against a show that's pretty much unbeatable.
So they get bombarded with hundreds of tonnes of nuts and go "whoops ... guess people really do like the show. Let's work out a way to wrap it up while also seeing if it improves in ratings!"
So they give it seven episodes ... and then put it up against American Idol ... again.
They knew it would fail. They set it up to fail.
Sure, they may have left it open for another network to pick up the storyline (with SciFi currently the leading contender) but the fact is, they never had any intention to give this show a real chance.
IF SciFi does pick it up they'll no doubt put it at a decent time slot and i'll be surprised if the ratings don't improve dramatically.
I for one am pissed at how it ended. They promised to wrap it up, all they did was leave me wanting more!

That is exactly how I feel. How was that ending supposed to give all of us closure? For me, it was very reminiscent of the final episode of Angel.

Yeah well if you want to know what happened with Angel then start reading the "After the Fall" comics.
Though I really wouldn't recommend you do that as it's seriously screwed up.
I guess in terms of wrapping things up we're left with the assumption that Texas sides against Cheyenne (sp) and the 2nd American Civil War is started.
So if that's the case then there's probably not much story to tell. But how great would it have been if they'd been given a full season instead of seven episodes?

I think that there are still several stories to tell. The problems Jericho was having with Newburn could go either way once the war started, not to mention that Jericho would probably be close to the frontlines being right in the middle of the country. It would be nice to know more about J & R and the bombings as well.

As a series there's so much potential to be told, not just revolving around Jericho.
What about the rest of the world? We know the likes of China and Germany were helping with supply drops, but is the rest of the world continuing like normal while the US recovers?
So much I want to know all because of that last bloody episode!

Maybe I've been distracted this whole past season, but I didn't even think about the rest of the world.
Perhaps if they would have renamed it CSI: Jericho or Survivor: Jericho it would still be on the air. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for SciFi continuing it.

Re: Want more Jericho
I want to know if Beck and his troops become Jericho's personal unit. I want to know wether Jake continues with the blonde, whose name escapes me at the time, or Heather. I want to see how things continue with Stanley. I want to know if the Green family accepts the bartender or if Eric realizes what a stupid move that was. How do Jake and Hawkins get back? There are many stories to continue with. Networks always seem to screw up great shows with stupid schedules.
