Waspinator vs. The 300 Spartans
Since Beast Wars left Waspinator as leader of the pre-humans it is not unreasonable to expect that he would turn up later down the road. He got in an argument with King Leonidas, and he ended up having to fight the 300. The winner of the poll will live to see the other desroyed.

The 300 would definatley take Waspinator. He is weak, can't take much damage, and is only about 9 ft tall.

If 300 Spartans can defend a small trench against several thousand soldiers who had conquered everything else up to that point, tot he point that, even though every Spartan had died, the Persians simply went "Screw it, it isn't worth it any more," packed up and went home, I think they can take what is essentially the Kenny McCormick of Beast Wars.

WASPY!!!
But seriously it would probably be close. The fact Waspinator flies and has a gun really makes me lean towards him. And he really could take a beating without actually staying down in just about every episode of Beast Wars.

Re: Waspinator vs. The 300 Spartans
first off, i hate the movie 300. i liked the visials, everything else was incredibly boring for me. i usually love movies about the underdog comming back and holding his own against an overwhleming force, but i just didnt find the spartans likable, and the action was all very boring.
that said, waspinator would probably lose, not because the 300 are that good, but becuase it seems like its his destiny to be blown to pieces in every fight. if it wasnt id say his speed, flight and firepower would give him the win. he has the ability to win the fight, but he always makes one big mistake that costs him victory, or he just has bad luck.

I suppose he could always fly out of reach of their primitive projectile weapons and shoot at them. They are only land bound humans after all.

Are you basing it on the movie, or the actual Battle of Termopylae?

Re: Waspinator vs. The 300 Spartans
I am sorry for the confusion. This is the real 300 Spartans. The ones who killed 28,000 Persians. Did you know that that averages out to about 93 kills per Spartan. Thats what I call PWNage.

Epic PWNage. Until you realize that they had around 7000 allies.
Though I was asking that question to unique_username...

Re: Waspinator vs. The 300 Spartans
i was basing it on the movie, but i suppose it works for the real 300. they might have been great fighters, but they had a whole lot of backup everyone forgets about, and they had a great bottleneck position to fight from. waspinator could theoretically defeat them, given the flight and firepower advantage he has. and hes fairly agile in the air giving him the ability to avoid their primitive ranged attacks.
but hed probably lose simply because he is waspinator and hed be overjoyed about taking out a small group of spartans and completely take his eye off the rest.

see... this would be a tuff fight... waspinator has the ability to win it but does he have the strategy. The spartans have a great bottleneck position and they have like 7000 allies that no one likes to mention.
Knowing waspinator he would just dive in and kill as many as possible but would probably kill himself because he didnt realize that he could just stay out of range and shoot them from afar.
i think that waspinator has the technology but the spartans have the tactics so...
THIS! IS! SPARTA!

Re: Waspinator vs. The 300 Spartans
I say 300 cos them and their many many allies are all similier in thought and process and they would probabely realise that all they had to do was shoot Waspinater and then some athletic beserker types could jump on him and Attack!
i rather thought the point of 300 the film is they arnt underdogs or in any way pathetic but rock hard and scary warriors who dont ask for pity and kill any who offered it.
i havent seen it but since when was anything by Frank Miller anything like the Mighty Ducks films?
dont get so hung up on the historical stuff and think of SPARTA!!!
AND THE AMAZING WARRIORS OF THE 300!

As rubbish as Waspinator is. I still reckon he could take all of them if he got serious.

Too bad I came in after the poll, or Sparta would have won. Sure they had about 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans, and over 3,000 more Peloponnesians. But I think the poll said the SPARTANS. Besides, the Thebans surrendered, and the remaining Peloponnesians were all killed by the Persians at Mt. Anopaea. The Thespians were the only ones who actually fought with the Spartans. However, I will admit that the Thespians are grossly overlooked.

If Spartan spears could pierce todays conventional armor at over 50 ft and bronze shields could take armor piercing anti-tank fire power, I'ld consider Waspinator at a disadvantage.
Waspinator may not be the Strongest of Beastwars cast but between flight and firepower, he'ld fair better than Dinobot or Blackarachnia and do more than blot out the sky with his rocket launcher.

Both Dinobot or Blackarachnia could do better than Waspinator. He can fly, so what, he's an idiot. Dinobot is strong enough to take Megatron in melee combat, and smart enough to outwit six Preds by himself. Blackarachnia has machine guns. Besides, Waspinator couldn't even outthink '07 Skorponok.

Waspinator wasn't that dumb. He was one of those who instantly realized after the Vok Moons destruction that the planet they are on is really Earth, and the real value of the Golden Disks.

Waspinator could win, but watch Nemesis part 1, and spears appear to be deadly to Predacons. I hate that bit. So, spartans would probably win.

He can fly so he has range. Cybertronian rocket launcher easily penetrates archaic bronze shields, easier than BA machineguns that have been useless on maximals in the series. As the series shows he really not that dumb. Sure if he walks into the center of them and then picks a fight, he'ld be in trouble, but If he's fighting from the start then he fires on sight, and he has a range that exceed non assisted human eyesight.
Dinobot, is a great melee fighter, and probably the best combat strategist in BW too. BW cast wasn't incredibly strong. But if a spear can hurt waspinator at 50 yards then a spear can hurt Dinobot at under 20 yards. Dinobot can't afford to mow down 300 Spartan shields with his energon consuming eye beams and his preference for melee is a liability against Leonidas and his men. Frankly the better Dinobot can handle a close fight with the Spartans the more plausible Waspinator's victory at range becomes.
Black Arachnia is in a similar conundrum. Agile, stealthy, and smarter than Dinobot, her range combat is effective machinegun cover fire, strong webing, and a cross bow. The machine gun wasn't that effective in actual combat with Maximals or Predacons. BA isn't much stronger than Waspinator and possibly less durable. If She can evade spears on land, the ever nimble waspinator can evade them easier from the air.
If the 300 are in the narrow pass for some form of strategy they become sitting ducks for the Cybertronian ballistics.
Newtilator wrote:spears appear to be deadly to Predacons.
Not that I doubt it, just then if two former Preds could individually accomplish this as melee specialists, I'ld like to think an aerial assault would prove even more effective. Also compared to the machinegun fire of BA being deadly to Predacons I think the spears were over rated.
highly plausible if he doesn't know how many he is fighting and flys in low after devastating a fewUU wrote:i was basing it on the movie, but i suppose it works for the real 300. they might have been great fighters, but they had a whole lot of backup everyone forgets about, and they had a great bottleneck position to fight from. waspinator could theoretically defeat them, given the flight and firepower advantage he has. and hes fairly agile in the air giving him the ability to avoid their primitive ranged attacks.

If it is a simple as Megatron saying "waspinator go destroy the Spartan. And don't come back until 3oo of those dirty hairless apes are deactivated!" I think he might count the bodies...
or If Waspinator was worshiped like the Persian king was as a god but decided to take the fight personally to them after they defeated XX amount of his soldiers with no casualties to them self...
"Wazzzpinator make exzzzample of 300 Zzzpartanzzz!"
Either case the Spartans would have a hard time hitting Waspinator at range.
