Objectively speaking, the designs were alright...when they were standing somewhere close to still.
Any signifigant movement just turned them into a blurry eyesore, and the climactic battle made it even worse. By the end of the film my eyes felt numb in their sockets.
So no, these designs weren't ever essential to making the characters look real. Thats BS, and its always been BS. I'll say that it was rather effective BS though because many fans have swallowed it like it was Megan Fox's used bath water.
A simpler and more classical look would have worked much better. Its a pity too because the film overall was better than I thought, even despite all the military-porn sequences

FYI, i think Megan Fox is about as attractive as a hippo's bung hole. Im 22 and married btw, and i dont have the typical teenager fanboy crush on this so called "hot" chick that so many people seem to which seems to be the only reason YOU think people like this movie.

Stop! Stop! Stop!
These people... they're not ready for our evolved way of thinking.
Taking the old and creating a hybrid with the new?
You must run... HURRY! Save yourselves!!!
I'll hold them off!

Are there any more of those?

Awesome work, but they look too much like the g1 cartoon versions so they wouldnt work in the movie. they are awesome though, you got a DA page or something?

No, it doesn't. How does defending an opinion mean you have a guilty conscience?
