Who is the "leader" of the Coneheads?

Alright, so I'm in the process of collecing the Classics Seekers, and I'm wondering how to display them. Obviously, Starscream being the "air commander" singles him out as the leader of the original three Seekers, so Skywarp and T-cracker should be placed as his wingmen. However, it's less clear to me who should be designated as the leader for the Coneheads, and who should be following his lead.

I know I could simply choose "my favorite", but I'm more concerned with show/comic accuracy, if there is any. If there has never been a canonical leader, then I guess I can also just rotate them.

Your help is greatly appreciated! :CON:

We went over this just a few weeks ago. Their top commander is Starscream, regardless of them being coneheads.

My apologies. Was that discussion under this sub-forum or another so I can track it down more easily?

Also, I understand that Screamer is their boss, but if I was to consider them as two squadrons, Starscream would lead his but who would he task with taking charge of the others?

Thanks.

Here's the older thread. Group consensus was if the Conehead trine had a leader, it'd be Ramjet, he's the only one with the drive and muscle.

I don't think there is a concrete answer, just either Ramjet or Thrust. Thrust would probably lead until something scared him too much then he'd beg Ramjet to do something about it. Dirge, as long as he agrees, would just say "Eh...whatever. I'm cool with it."

Ramjet (on Dirge): "He gives me the creeps."

I feel like Dirge is too antisocial or quiet to really lead the others but I can't help but feel that if Dirge says to do something they absolutely do it.

I gotta agree with you there. It seems to me that the popular choice is Thrust, because he's so loud and blustery, but let's face it, in the episode "God Gambit" he was quite happy slipping into the role of a lackey. Not to mention that his bio claims he's a coward.

Ramjet just seems too impulsive, like he'd forget to even issue orders, let alone take them, but either way, I can't see him as a leader, unless the standing order is "charge!"

Dirge, however, is described as a "Control Freak" and a Master of Fear... sounds like my boss! Even if he isn't truly leader material, I think he's be more likely to want to be leader than Ramjet (whom he creeps out) to maintain control over the situation, and more able to scare Thrust into submission using his little fear-trick. I mean, if Thrust is a coward, and Dirge can manipulate a person/robot's fear reaction... isn't that like taking candy from a baby? ;)

I would describe Dirge as the quiet, but creepy guy that hangs around in a dark corner who never says or does anything until you least expect it. I think if Ramjet and Thrust really got into it and forgot about Dirge that he would just take them both out. He is a 'Con, after all.

Dirge is the smartest of them and if i remember right so was he often the guy ratbat and other decepticon leaders addressed first when they gave orders to the coneheads.

Ramjet isnt the brightest star out of them but still he has a 5 with means average intelligence.

Whether this is relevant or not, there was a Studio Ox artwork showing Ramjet in a triumvirate pose with the other cone heads.......he was in the middle. Leader?

Though the Opening Scene in G1 had Starcream in the back so 50/50 but, this issue will never end until we get a hold of the series bible. Outside of this this will be each of our own personal opinions.

Though my own basis of speculating on RJ's leadership is based on his coincidentally being a direct re-mold/color of G1 Starscream (wings aside)down to his decals. I could be wrong though........

Hey all,

I'm a UK Marvel comic buff, and from the conehead's early appearances it's difficult to judge a leader...

They first appear here, as in the US run, in the Smelting Pool stories. In their first attack they're all led by Shrapnel. Hmmm... flick, flick, flick...

Ah, their next appearance gives a greater clue - UK #88, end of Target:2006. as the Decepticons approach the site of the Autobot "uprising", a certain DIRGE is seen outlining that "Remember, I want Xaaron ALIVE. Beyond that, kill anything that isn't wearing a Decepticon Insignia..." He then gets handed a Communi-cube (remember them?) from Megatron ordering them back to Polyhex, and leads them all back despite Octane's protestations...

Also, in #90, as the coneheads come through the Space Bridge and attack the dam, it's Dirge again who orders them all to Transform and attack as the Aerialbots invade their airspace.

On their tech specs every seeker has a rank of 5, apart from Starscream on 9. So I say, on comics alone, the first seeker I ever owned takes it, hello, Mr. Dirge!!

B.
Is it fear or courage that compels you fleshling...
