The Energon Pub

This is becoming a really big hassle for me. Every time I try to burn a video to Nero on a CD, it insists on encoding the DVD in it's own format. This no only puts the file size above the size limits on the CD but also throws the audio track off by about half a second. Is there anyway to disable this moronic function? Or is there another burning program where I can burn to CD still? I checked download.com and could only find ones that burn to DVD. Sad because 2 years ago it was almost impossible to find one that would do that.
