Its called "Beating a dead horse*. Now, where is THAT pic!

If you find a sense to that, you can find a sense to "Flamicus Prime"!
I dint even notice the flame in the movie. Serious.
The flame aren't that bad after all. You want to know what i bad? Starscream and megatron deformed insect face!

Thats not a dead horse....thats Homer Simpson.
BTW, your last statement is also beating a dead horse...just letting you know its a bit hypocritical to tell someone they are beating a dead horse (as much as i agree with you that bringing up the whole prime with flames thing is indeed beating a dead horse) and then end that statement with beating a dead horse yourself.

I think Homer's "going around in circles" is meant to signify something.
The board has gotten to the point where saying that someone's "beating a dead horse" is itself "beating a dead horse".

I heard (ore watched a bit of the making of) that the truck came with the flames, so insted of respraying it they just put them on Prime, but you don't rely notice that they are there!

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

If that's the official reason, Bay is so cheap.
I have no problems with the flame. But cutting insignificantly tiny cost on such a big budget film is plain cheap.

I like the flames. I mean if was your everyday flatnosed truck colored blue and red he would look pretty lame. The flames made him look pretty aggressive. I mean compare optimus to your normal everyday Peterbuilt Semi truck and your notice Optimus looks a LOT more aggressive!

But Prime without flames will be a better disguise. Blending into a sea of peterbuilt trucks, mostly in plain colors without flame.
I'm not against the flames. Either is ok for me.
But recently, I've seen pictures of Prime Nightwatch. The blue-black color. Still with flames. But the flames are not bright, hence, not readily noticeable.
This new color is so much prettier than the original red one.
Which brings me to the opinion that, Prime will look much better without the flames. Red peterbuilt truck without flames will be awesome. The truck will look much more realistic.

Could it be possible that Starscream was upside down? Could that be the crotch, instead of the face?
I wonder

Its not like the flames scream "Alien Life-Form!" though.
But I agree that it would be more unassuming Prime in the film didn't have flames.
Maybe they could get rid of those in the sequel because he thinks they might be too showy?

Yeah spend a few thousand dollars to repaint a semi to make it look bland instead of saving that money for a few more important things.
