zemper wrote:hey Robinson, i hope the fire doesn't get near you. from what i hear the fire spreads so quickly you'll never know if it's in your backyard already or not.

Fires are on a bit later than usual though, it's about now we "borrow" some of the Californian Firefighters Water Carriers.

It almost 4 years to the day that our last big fire happened.

Sounds about right, Sydney is about the same, every 4-6 years the whole city is surrounded by fires, but with the drought its shrunk down to every 18 months-2 years now.
But if anyone has the resources and manpower to put on a blaze as big as the one you have right now it's your West Coast Firies, they do a top notch job, and always do well at the Firefighter games.

So far La Jolla is safe for now. Mira Mesa was in a threatened area but nothing is burning that far south and west yet. If you know any one in Poway, Rancho Bernardo, and Fallbrook they should have been evacuaded since those are the major areas that are on fire. The fires are currently North, East and West of where I live.
