WTFmasters

There is more to Transformers than movies, cartoons, comics and toys. Discuss anything else Transformers here.

WTFmasters

Postby Uniprimus » Mon Feb 18, 2008 8:34 pm

I've been watching a lot of te cartoons recently (Rebirth) and playing with some headmaster/targetmaster/etc toys recently, and have been looking at some pics recently. I have a question that has been on my mind a long time:

How in Cybertron do the humans/Nebulans manage not to crush themselves transforming into the heads/guns/engines?

Am I missing something? :-?

there really in a command center that controls the robot heads/gun/etc in the bot itself. and when it transformer the bot becomes a exosute, but in masterforce the human does become the robot key and is in no command center.

:?

So they're really in a little pod? You can clearly see them folding up, especially the Targetmasters...

The "binary bonding" technique replaces their skeletal system with a robotic one.

Or something to that extent.

Uhh...

I just don't see how that's possible.

Then again, I suppose not everything can make sense.

Alien technology.

Helping you to suspend disbelief since before L Ron Hubbard dreamed of being reincarnated as Suri Cruise.

Weapon: Venom Blaster
In the US Marvel comics, the human "masters" became cyborgs. Caused all sorts of hell for Spike's personal life.

Rebirth did not portray this well at all. Daniel still looked healthy and normal, and it looked as if the armor could be peeled off at any time, but that was not the case. It was a physiological change, not just an exterior physical one.

Of course it was not all bad. They did get increased speed and strength due to the process.

This is one of the images I was talking about.

I just can't see how Ginrai/Hi Q can do this without crushing the hell out of themselves (especially the legs).

Weapon: Blinding Black Light Beam Gun
Spotlight Magnus to the rescue!!

Although it is the IDW continuity the principles should be the same. The “masters” don’t have bodies like you or I, instead they have mechanical parts instead of a skeleton and muscle tissues. So technically they wouldn’t feel pain because their bodies could easily move in ways that even a contortionist could only dream of.

This picture and caption from the Ultra Magnus spotlight should give you a better idea of what is actually going on inside one of the Headmasters bodies.

Yup. Either technoorganic hybrid or human brain in a cyber shell with a skin(like) coating in places.

This is a vital skill when following a story based on alien robots who are able to change their physical form in order to blend in with their surroundings.

1) this concept was not something easily accepted with the new movie.

2) with the binary binding.. Can the humaniod die? Naturally or by being killed? When they do do the robots get their lives back? Could the robot just say F off and live the humaniod?

Sometimes you really just have to close your eyes, suspend your disbelief and hope the next series will be less confusing...

If this stuff were real and made sense, we could do it in real life. Since we can't, the science obviously won't work out... :P

Supposedly the 'bots conscious is stored elsewhere, and would not necessarily need the head to function, but would not function as acutely as it does with the 'second brain'. Something like that. :-?
