Yeah am still getting Apollyon , i went from strong dislike to near perfection with my opinions on this figure

I hope they don't have a december release , i would waith till feb-march if i thought this would make next to no QC issues.

As for Takara not doing a sculpt just as good ? i would fully expect an excellent sculpt from them , but i'm not to sure about him being a gun but if TT are pushing for the perfect alt modes who knows .

Who cares? I pre-ordered Apollyon on day one with no second thoughts. This is the Megatron that fits in with the focus of my collection. I don't care about any hypothetical Megatrons that may or may not be made. I like this one and I am getting it. If a better Megatron comes out, I might get it or I might not. I base my purchasing on what I like and what is available. Everyone should just buy the toys that they like and not care what other people blow their dough on. In the Toy Discussion board, there is a thread devoted to Masterpiece Speculation. Maybe everyone interested could go there and preach the tale of the Second Coming? Maybe this thread could be used for information/speculation of Apollyon?

I'm not so sure it is "doomsday prepping" so much as it is "not spending $150 if I don't have to."

When the figures are $15, I'll buy several and pick the best, or display them all, or whatever, but when we are talking about MPs, and this figure in particular, the prices are pretty high, even for the 3P scene.

As I have stated elsewhere, I don't care if a product is official or not, I just want the best representation of the character possible. Apollyon looks great, that could totally be my MP Megatron. BUT, I want to see what Takara comes out with, and I'm willing to withhold my $$$ till they announce something, and I expect they will.

That is the gamble I'm willing to make.

I may not wait forever, and I may end up hunting down this guy in the after market, or just wait till his stock is getting too low for comfort on the online sites, and bite on it then.

I waited on Citizen Stack, and I'm glad I did. I like the official MP Magnus MUCH, MUCH better, and he will be out shortly. But if I had preferred CS, waiting was STILL in my best interest, as I would have had the chance to compare the two.

I think that is all anyone is saying here.

If MP Megatron is not forthcoming, or if he is announced as a tank or truck or helicopter or Cybertron mode or anything that isn't his G1 self, people will jump on this figure.

If you and dustin want to buy this guy, that's awesome, tell us how it is, I'm actually very excited to know.

One of the main reasons I limit myself to collecting MPs in the first place was that they come out so rarely and that it takes ages for figures to come out = not spending so much money like I used to when I collected Classics.

This Megatron looks awesome, no wait it doesn't, it looks f**king sweet, but it's one of those characters you know Takara is going to do. Seriously, they had Megatron planned ages ago. Back when I was still a news mod we had an insider who teased us with all these upcoming projects and figures, sure some never came out (like Encore Dinobots, Voyager scale Classics Galvatron, and Voyager Classics Sixshot), but most other stuff did.
And one of the things he did tell us was that Takara was planing to make a new mold MP Optimus Prime in a new size, and that should that Prime be popular enough, they would make a new Megatron to go with it, back then he said that it would then be around the MP15 numbering, with only Starscream being confirmed as having a set number decided on.

So this figure here was never going to be the only option, there was always going to be an official Megatron for MP10.

And I'll be getting that one, but I do say that it'S going to be hard to beat this Megatron, he looks so perfect.

So no need to be angry, everyone can get the one he or she thinks best suits their collection. And personally, I can't wait to see side by side comparisons of the two.

For those that might not know, "Megatron's Last Stand" was issue 25 of the Marvel comic back in the 80s. He was "killed off" by the Predacons. If the rumor is and a big enough IF to drive my car through, this would have a very deep meaning. Would Takara dig that deep to throw fans a bone like that?

I'm on the fence until I see more news. But we have a G2 Sideswipe for some odd reason. And Marlboor Wheeljack as a "here you go." It would be nice for that level of connection to be made but yeah...rumors are rumors.

If there is an MP Megatron coming, I'll still get it more than likely and sell whichever one doesn't fit with the others. Honestly, I don't think it can get much better than Apollyon. I think we may be in another Quakewave and iGear Ironhide and Ratchet situation.

Even if a MP Megatron IS coming, it'll be a long time before he's actually released. That reason alone is enough to get me to keep my preorder for Apollyon, unless there's major QC issues of course.

Am I reading this MP-25 rumor correct in this thread, That RobotKingdom is unsure if this is a Gun-bot update? It could be a V2 Megatron with a tank, Jet or Cybertronian alt mode?

Personally If I had to chose, I'd chose anything but the Gun-bot thing. As X-T has this more than covered.

Don't think a MP Tank-bot Megatron is needed. think the 2015 Generations has created a excellent Leader scale tank-bot Megatron.

I'd welcome Takara doing some DW or IDW TF comics art as MP TF toys. Think doing a leader scale Cybertron mode DW-IDW Tank-bot or Black stealt jet Megatron MP toys would be awesome.

I'm all for kicking the "MP-25 is Megatron" rumor out of this thread now. I think enough has been said about it, considering for now IT IS ONLY A RUMOR regardless of the source.

Let's get back to talking about Apollyon. Because we KNOW what that looks like, and some of us really want it right now. Bring on more comparison pics, bring on some in-hand test shots. Let's see videos of people playing Lazer Tag, all equiped with Apollyon. This guy is going to replace MP-05 in my collection, because Megatron does not need to tower over ALL the other Decepticons, definitely not over Soundwave and Shockwave.

Wow, that looks pretty awesome. I'm a bit worried about that beam that the back cannon seems to eb attached to, but it's probably die-cast so there's nothing to worry about.

A peice this good should be taking it's time and making sure QC is at a Quakewave level , like i said i would wait another couple of month for this .

Well Citizen Stack didn't do so well because of QC issues (that scarily thin cab...) and his oddly neo aesthetics in an MP scale figure. Honestly I think he'd have been a lot better scaled down to about Voyager/Ultra size (whatever size would put his truck cab in scale with Classics Prime or whatever). This guy on the other hand is fully G1, and XT have a fairly good history of QC so this should be good.

To be honest, if Takara do release an MP Megatron around the same time as this, I reckon it will be less a case of Apollyon failing outright and more a case of the fandom being divided between those that love Apllyon and those that love MP Megatron.

Of course, neither of them are MP G2 Sideswipe so they're both flawed.

I agree, I'd be willing to wait a few more months for this to have all the quality issues worked out. In the mean time if we see the Takara version and like it better, we can cancel our orders for Apollyon.

There are always going to be people who will clamor to one side or the other on this, and that's a good thing. It means everybody's tastes are being satisfied!

Think it's the oppossite, If anyone needs worrying it's Takara not X-T. As X-T's product will be released in a few weeks, a whole 6 months before Takara's toy.

6 months is enough time for X-T's version to sell out of it's first few factory productions runs. With plenty of time for more productions runs, recolors and retools.
