Yeah, this is really cool. I wish I had the guts to buy both the Classics PW Prime trailer and this GodBomber upgrade. I think it's really, really clever to make this so it can go on either...

when i saw the MP10 compatibility i was all :???:

but youre right. its a great way of expanding the market for this item from JUST those who already own a xovergen trailerforce. not to mention this seemingly coinciding with an affordable reissue of MP10, thats just lucky.

Not really seeing that great a similarity. I suppose if you squint a bit, the way both armors puff out the chest, and add girth to the arms and legs. But the distinctive elements are all different, such as the GBP-1 armor having the missile pods on the shoulders and the twin rockets (similar to the later Fast Pack armor used on Super Valkyries and the G1 Jetfire toy) on the back. Meanwhile the Xovergen armor (inspired, of course, by God Ginrai) has those big red wings on the shoulders, where as the armored up Valkyrie, even being based on a jet as it is, keeps its wings firmly tucked away. (You can theoretically pull them out a bit, but they quickly bump into the armor on the arms and shoulders. Besides which, the armored up version was never seen in animation with the wings extended.)

now back to the armor, the shoulder parts reminds me of the Macross armor and the pics really give GB a bad@ss look.......and yes..too expensive.

Yeah, I'm also interested but the price is a deterrent. RobotKingdom has a special where you can get both the TF02 and Nemesis variant of the Trailerforce (Powermaster Optimus) armor for about $250 plus shipping. Comes to a little over $320 shipped to the US (because I checked) and I don't have a Trailerforce yet. Just a bad time for me financially, too many high priced items coming out and there are a few figures I need to catch up with.

Think it's pointless creating a 3rd party God Bomber that looks nothing like the 1988 MF Godbomber toy or animation.

Those huge round circles on the upper torso near the shoulder joints on the Xovergen TF02 God Bomber. Remind me of Optimal Optimus's huge round circles on the upper torso.

I don't know if there is any official TF source material from comics, outside of God Bomber from Supergod Masterforce, but I think it's been mentioned before that there is a Macross flavor to the armor:

Ah, I got you! I think this is meant to be a stand alone bot like God Bomber, but also be able to upgrade MP-10 into God Ginrai from the Supergod Masterforce Japanese TF series. At least that was my impression of the add-on.

Godbomber to SuperGinrai is pretty much what VictoryLeo is to StarSaber. He's a standalone bot that transforms from a weird looking truck, to robot, and splits apart to become GodGinrai's add-ons.

But of course there really isn't a point to get this if you don't have Trailerforce/Mp-10 already, unless you really, really love Godbomber.

I have a custom version of that incarnation of Prime that I'm quite happy with, and nothing about the final product convinced me to relinquish the spot on the shelf.

That's cool! I had PowerMaster Prime, but never had the God Bomber armor. I've always wanted a decent representation, but haven't like the recent stuff enough to bite. If you have a custom that you are happy with, that's going to be hard to replace, eh, no matter how awesome a 3p gets?
