James Avery, known best for his role as "Uncle Phil" on the show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was interview by Unscripted, where it was revealed that he will be playing a character known as Silverbolt.

I thought I was the only one who knew he was Shredder! I wonder what they're going to do with the Aerialbots, or if they'll even be Aerialbots at all...

I hope this Silverbolt is more like BW Silverbolt who I think is a far better character.

I agree. Beast Wars Silverbolt is the best incarnation of the character. I certainly hope for this too.

Silverbolt was the Japanese name for Armada Blurr... so technically.. Blurr is in TF3.

silverbolt will probably be a decepticon west highland terrier with streaky fur that wants to hump mikealas leg knowing him.

its catchphrase will then be "look at my GIANT balls !"

im hoping like the rest of you that he's taking on board some of the criticism of ROTF but seeing as it made near a billion i wont hold my breath.

on the OP.

I like the guy. i think he's got a great voice and he can do gravitas well so if they DO go with the aerialbot leader he's a good choice.

Very true. But let's hope this Silverbolt has his Beast Machines form, which is clearly the penultimate form of Silverbolt.

Good voice, by the way. I think he's got a neat voice and ought to work out well for TF3.

May i also comment, that is a wonderful image of Uncle Phil...

Though i`m no long-time fan, and don`t really have any idea of what the Aerialbots are, i think his voice sounds good. Let`s now see if Will Smith gets the role as Grimlock...

Fresh Prince rules, I don't really like autobot combiners(where's the fun in autobots having un-terrible odds?) but still this is awesome.

Come on, some characters have to be sacrificed so Shia can have his screentime.

you know the only thing that could be worse is if they make him incredibly cool like sideswipe....

...and never use him again in the remaining two hours

Now the question is like many have asked, will it be the Aerialbot or the BW version?

I don't think Bay will throw in a Beast alt mode again (Ravage was awesome!).

If he does go the Aerialbot road, will he STILL be a Concord jet? That would make Silverbolt huge and if they do combine into Superion....my God he would be ginourmous and dwarf everything.....

Well, seeing as a cassette player has become a mutant satellite-hacker, Starscream has become a dorito-body chicken leg wimp to Megatron, who is a flying tank and a wimp to the fallen, Devastator has balls and a snake-head, Skids and Mudflap became abominations, Jetfire became an old hag Decepticon-turned Autobot, The Matrix turned into a spike key to destroy suns...I wouldn't count on Silverbolt to resemble his past carnations at all. Not that I didn't love ROTF, or think the new designs, voices, and some personalities were great, I'm just sayin'. Besides, whatever character they decide to base him on, unless he's a major character, it's not like you're gonna see it very much.

You know, it would be cool if they COMBINED the features of the two major Silverbolts: A campy noble knight with acrophobia. THAT would be an awesome character, and Uncle Phil's voice would be PERFECT for that.

Sadly, we'll probably get something lamer than even Energon Superion Maximus.

I'd find this news mildly interesting if he was going to have more than 2-3 total lines and appear for something more than 20 seconds. Bay will probably ask him to do his part with a stupid accent to boot.
