When's the last time you entered a mission where your side was badly outnumbered and/or outleveled, and you damn well knew you were going to lose?

Yesterday?

Seriously, what is this based on? :?

neliz explained perfectly well why most of the organizing within Autobot ranks doesn't work.

Please try to follow Psychout's advise next time (he IS a mod, you know?) and LET IT GO.

Thank you :)

Right. Yes, you're right, a lot of us did bash the ASF.
To be fair, we bashed the AWC too, but we still apreciated it's existence. Also, Op007 contacted myself and other high ranking RDD commanders, and asked us about our subfaction and how it ran/how it worked. We happily told him what we could. The he turns round and tells us to butt out of his business and that he wanted nothing to do with other factions in his subfaction. In short, we were told in no uncertain terms, that the ASF was not for talking with the RDD. How are you suposed to strike up a friendly rivalry and subfaction tournies with a subfaction who refuses to speak to you? You cant.

Do you know why the ASF was started? Becuase Op007 had decided he didnt like Evolution Prime. The ASF was all about finishing off the AWC.

As for the dedication of the players:
I have always recognised that the Autobots atract the most part time players, cuase, well, they're the good guys. I didnt realise there were *that* few really dedicated players now.

Still, the comunity as it was before the reset took years to build, we lost a fair few commanders in the reset, and may lose more in the V2 reset. But once V2 comes along, if it's all it's cracked up to be, I'd expect that we might see some old faces back. So maybe the more dedicated Bots my reapear, and we'd all be fools to beleive that new people wont get obsesed.

Are you a tabloid now?

What I mean is, is this really something you think you should post in a general discussion forum? For everyone to read?

To be honest, it's an Autobot internal discussion but it's quite clear that a large part were basically looking for activity. either trough reactivation of the AWC or a new sub-faction. The thing is, a shift of command was not possible within the AWC (EP didn't want to give up the AWC to a new group of people) and that's about it.
it literally took a year for an issue to be resolved, idea worked out or something was picked up, AWC was dead long before the reset.

The other reason was that not everyone was fond of a militaristic approach to a sub-faction, but then.. .this has nothing to do with appointment of another RDD member to the HMW moderation STAFF :D

Can we all just take step back here a second?

Forget the factions and teams and clans a minute. This is a PvP computer game, and there has been a long tradition of smacktalking and ribbing each other over various ups and down here, but over the last year I feel it has kinda lost its way.

Trash talking should be kept to game results and related, its time it returned to that and we remembered that were all computer gamers supporting the same game. The bots players aren't the enemy, their minions are.

Loki/Merc had the right idea and is only trying to help, and considering he's still pretty new to the game it should be commended. His ideas are sound but each faction is comprised of different people who play differently with different organisational methods, and the only people who can tell the bots how to organise are the bots themselves.

edit: Red, enough already with the clan talk. Ive asked you to leave it once already, I will not ask nicely again.

Before this goes somewhere it shouldn't; our affiliations have nothing to do with our duties as staff members.

Jeep has been picked to help me run tournaments for the new game, and to help in the moderation of this board. Our interest is keeping all players of the game happy, regardless of faction. Please do not infer we are biased without good reason and if you do think there is a problem by all means contact one of the other members of staff you regard as not directly involved.

Now, can we get back to congratulating Jeep on his appointment, or do I have to lock yet another thread here?

You know, you should leave that up to JP. Just to see how many wrong buttons he presses before getting it right. :P

This subject always seems to stir conflict. Just to be clear, there are no "subfactions" in the game itself. That is the official stance of the staff. They are not official or recognized.

What you are talking about are groups of players that have an offsite messageboard to socialize somewhere in addition to here. That's pretty much what it amounts to.

The new staff members may be members of these different messageboards but none of this has any real bearing on the direction of the game. The staff does what they need to in order to make the game and this community better.

Or they get kicked in the nuts, right? Somehow I thought that was the official reprimand.

RDD or other groupings members being staff is a benefit (to spend my 2 cents) because it forces non-partiality from those members and therefore a representative of that group.

As to the Bot engagement, one serious point I would like to highlight (which seems appropriate here, given the appointment of a new staffer) is that the 17-year old Armada fan-boys may not be able to take the smack-talking or the general "Bots stink" discussion. The age difference and maturity is a key difference between someone who is a teen and just starting versus someone who started as a teen 5 years ago and has the experience. Keeping smack to mission / arena posts would be helpful (minor deviations for humor, of course); I also request that some encouragement of new players even if they aren't your faction, especially when younger occur. After all, if Mini-Mods point that we're primarily PvP then every P should encourage every other P regardless of faction or grouping.

So back to Jeep?, just stay half-in-the-bag and you should be up to the task. :P Just please don't eat anyone's house plants....

Take the subfaction talk to PMs or off the site, you guys know the rules by now.

Thanks to everyone who's shown their support, I won't let you guys down. But I'm locking this to cut down on the arguing going on here. ANd for shits and giggles.
