June 2nd Shelf Date for Transformers Movie Products Still in Effect
We reported a rumor that the June 2nd street date for Transformers Movie toys had been lifted. The previous report was indeed rumor. Today on Transformers.com, Hasbro posted the following message:
"June 2nd On-sale Date Still In Effect!
To clear up any confusion, the 6/2 on-shelf date for Transformers Movie product is still in effect and is not being lifted. The only movie products that are allowed to be on-shelf before that date are the two Movie Deluxe Figures (Protoform Optimus Prime and Protoform StarScream). Only 22 days to go!"

And to think that I own the entire first wave and then some almost, thanks to eBay! Can't wait to receive the deluxe figures that popped up this week on eBay.

I for one like this.
1.) I have more time to get the money I need.
2.) I'll be able to fill the cart with TFs. (This alone rules damnit.)
3.) A street date makes it even for everyone.
My only problem is, how the hell do I get from Wal-Mart (Bumblebee/Barricade 2 pack @ $16.99 FTW!) to Toys 'R' Us (Blackout/Scorponok 2-pack FTOW*!) which are in opposite directions, in the same day??
Normally I wouldn't worry, but my region is full of people quick on the draw when it comes to new TFs and Wrestling figures. (I don't collect Wrestling figures, but I've seen them literally tear the aisle apart looking for that one figure.)
So...it's gonna be a race to the finish.

I'll be surprised if I see anything more than the preview protoforms before the movie comes out here in Atlantic Canada, as I only saw the protoforms come here last week. Only two columns available of them compared to the aisle full of Spidey 3 toys all over the place.. (neither of which sold very much yet)

TF Collection: It has come time to start looking to sell instead of buy, I'll be posting details in the b/s/t forum.

i was at target tonight and found two Bonecrusher's and a swindle. i snapped one of each for me, and the other Bonecrusher for my best friend's birthday (I don't think he reads Seibertron except when I send him a link... so nobody tell him!) and as soon as my camera is charged i'll get some photographic evidence.

pictures coming soon. i need to let the batteries charge a bit longer.
i have already opened bonecrusher and swindle, (but i have a second unopened bonecrusher for the gift, so.... in-package pics will be coming of that, at least) and..... they're awesome. bonecrusher seemed insanely complex at first go, but its really not so bad once you've figured it out. swindle is just..... nice. i find it interesting, because, it makes special note on swindle's packaging that he's "as seen in the transformers video game"
the card backs read, as follow:Swindle is just one of many Decepticons, brought to earth by Megatron to cause as much trouble for the Autobots. He's not a great fighter, but he makes up for it in the amount of pleasure he takes in just blowing stuff up. His extending torso cannon fires explosive rounds, and he leaps around like a madman, firing randomly in a fight. Battling Swindle is like battling a crazy bundle of living dynomite.
strength 6, intelligence 1, speed 8, endurance 6, rank 2, courage 5, fireblast 9, skill 3.
Bonecrusher hates everything. And what Bonecrusher hates, he destroys. He hates this planet, and all its inhabitants. He hates the Autobots for getting in his way. He even hates Megatron and the other Decepticons: the only reason he stays with them is because megatron scares him. Bonecrusher lives for the day when he's the only one left standing atop a pile of smoking rubble and shattered robots.
Strenth 9, intelligence 5, speed 5, endurance 10, rank 6, courage 8, fireblast 7, skill 5.
anyway, i'll try to get some pictures up in a little while, promise!

Meh..... I'm not in any hurry to get movie transformers anyway. I think it was Monday that I went into the post office and picked up the protoforms I ordered from hasbrotoyshop.com a month ago and just today that I went in *again* and picked up the Pepsi Convoy I ordered. So until I've got money enough to order the Devastator set from walmart.com, I'm gonna keep my mouth shut. I think I'll grab these new two-packs they're talking about, save money on buying them separately.

My vote for the HOF goes to my favorite Transformer, Kup, to the Headmasters (who still need new figures that aren't just the characters without their master components) and to seibertron.com for for being the ultimate TF resource.

Hey, this kind of implies that those buggers in Hasbro's front office is listening (or, more appropriately, reading) what we have to say around here. Not that we're having all that much influence on the movie or anything, but maybe we could at least bug them into continuing Classics. Just a thought.

you see I told you before in another post, never doubt my sources.. he he he.. but seriously as proof..

and I will repeat an earlier assumption which fits this news....

I think we just have some over zealous department managers at some of the stores, who after setting out some of the back stock figures, or all... are getting reamed a little from their managers...ofcourse, hasbro doesn't have a secret police that can really view if they are selling them or not, but then again, i think the genreal rule is one per customer and only set out a few releases early to entice buyers and collectors.. its seen as common place, with the big drop midnight open doors thing still to come, remember this is sort of Steven Speilberg's star wars epic trilogy, so he can get his face on the perverbial Mt Producermore next to george Lucas...Plus Hasbro likes the midnight madness drop the bomb date sales too, the publicity is enormous, and heightens the sales of their toys, they know, they did it with star wars plenty of times... so i highly doubt the ban was lifted.. I'll confer with my sources...
I love being right, which is none too often...so i'm due..

...or it could just mean that they went into toy stores, found some movie figures, and got pissed.

Personally, I don't see what the big problem is about releasing the toys early. Those who want them will buy them and tell other people about them. Isn't that good for increasing the hype? And Hasbro gets the money anyway, so it's not like these figures are being stolen or anything, right? I don't know, I just get what the trouble is...

the packaging design is very similar to the protoforms, and at first, i thought that swindle was classic cliffjumper in a new package (red with silver 'stripes' on the sides) but then i noticed that it wasn't.... and dug through the shelf and found the bonecrushers....
but due to the similarity in package design, i wouldn't be surprised if they just got put on the shelf by accident.
