Some of you might have remembered when congress, in the mid 1990's, tried to ban supplements, herbs and minerals, etc.
Well, listening to the radio and reading some new articles, it seems congress wants a sorta rematch, to get supplements only available by prescription. Now I read how some herbal supplements in Canada has beocme available only via prescription ( Any Candians, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. ). This really makes me nervous. You see, I have always been into body building, and am making a return in plans of making my body bigger, stronger, leaner and as freaky musuclar as I can. Now ask any gym rat about supplementation, and they will tell you it's needed, it really is. And with my super fast metabolism, I need a hell of alot of supplementation, which includes protein supplementation, which is also included in all this. ( having a high metabolism might be a blessing, but it can also be a problem sometimes
).
And the proponents of this move say, "Well, we wanna protect you from scammers and their herbs, vitamins and so on. And if you get it from us, it will be good and safe." Sorry, but since as long as I can remember, I never remembered anything from doctors, FDA, and drug companies ever being honest, nor giving you stuff that are free of side effects. And they also say, "If you wanna be healthy and live well, just eat a balanced diet." Well, why don't ya tell us WHAT EXACTLY that balanced diet is? ( remember the silly food pyramid 10+ years ago? If we were to eat 7-12 servings of the bread group, we'd all be fat as cows by now. ) Plus with alot of America's soil is so depleated of nutrients, you could eat alot of good stuff and still be depleated. If I were to sit down and eat enough to be well nourished in the morning......I'd be finished at bedtime.
Also, if this happens, I can see these 'prescriptions' costing a pretty penny like everything else. And what quality will we get? I mean I can go out now, and buy a bottle of....say folic acid, with 500mg a tablet for $5.00 for 100 tablets. I can see us having to pay $50, $100, or god forbid, even more, for like 10mg or something. I'm sorry to any pro-business people or those supporting this idea, but I feel that we as a people, outta have a right to how we wanna maintane outselves, feed ourselves, and heal ourselves......and not having to pay an arm and a leg to do so. This is pretty much like for people who can not afford medical costs, the luxury of insurrence, and so on. ( let's face it, if you don't got enough cash, or something like an HMO, you pretty much better not get sick, unless you wanna be left to rot in the street. )
And being into body building, I know this will not sit well with amatuers likes me ( who just spent 18 months of hard training just to get some bicep to finally form, and to finally reach some degree of progress ), and also the pro's like Ronnie Coleman or Lee Priest will not take it lightly either.
Yo, to all old, fat white guys in congress pushing this idea......do you
really want to tell
these guys that they can no longer use supplements without a prescription?
And if you do got the balls to tell them that, I hope they leave just enough left of you for me to pound you about myself.
Call me a bit paranoid, but I enjoy body building and I have worked alot just to get where I am now. I got quite a few years ahead of me before I can be in league with guys like in the pictures, and I don't wanna have it **** up cause a bunch of middle-aged men in congress are looking to make more money off us. Same thing for people just wanting to live a healthier life and a better quality of life.
There, I'm done now.
