IGN has confirmed Keith David's casting, which was first rumored yesterday. David will be playing the sinister Decepticon known as Barricade who transforms into a Saleen Ford Mustang police cruiser. David's other credits include Crash, Platoon, The Chronicles of Riddick, Armageddon (which Michael Bay directed) and the father of Mary in "There's Something About Mary". He is also an accomplished voice actor, having worked on such cartoons as Gargoyles, Spawn, Justice League, Teen Titans as well as the Halo videogames. Yeah, this guy is good. His voice for Goliath on Gargoyles was really fantastic. If James Earl Jones dies tomorrow, this guy would probably be the voice of Darth Vader wherever needed. As for Barricade, I don't even know how many lines the guy has. I have to admit I was getting the impression most of these robots weren't going to talk much in the film. To me, there's nothing worse than a silent robot. I need to hear classic lines like "Back away! I will deal with this Jedi slime... MYSELF!" or something of the sort. Guys like ... wait, what are the Decepticons' names again? Oh yeah. Brawl, Blackout and Bonecrusher (what idiot decided to have all their names start with "B?" Is it "B" for "Bay?" Ugh)... I haven't read any scripts, but I'm afraid their lines are going to be as bad as Bane's (there's that "B" again) in Batman & Robin. Examples include "Bomb" and... wait, were there any others?

There were some rough scenes shown way back, that showed Shia cringing away from a crane of sorts (which would later have a Decepticon CGI'ed on top of it), and Shia was whimpering about "Not knowing anything about any artifacts". Since it seemed like the perfect time for Barricade to be tormenting the little fleshling, I could imagine the kinds of things Barricade might be saying. Now, picture that evil police car snarling at the human before him, and Keith David's voice growling something along the lines of,
"Tell me, you pathetic sack of meat, *where* is the artifact?!?"

For me, the most noteable presence of Ol Keith were the two Johnny Carp's movies They Live and The Thing. But I am glad to see they had put some thought into the voice casting.
