It's your collection. There's not really a need to justify anything.
KFC are clearly trying to pass these off as MP scale, if they weren't then they would never have posted this,![]()

X, you have constantly disregarded and ignored the reasons for the way the MP line is being done because it doesn't cater to your specific needs. The MP cassettes, while not completely perfect, are much closer to MP scale than Classic, but can reasonably be used for either. To make a claim about the scale of a line you actively ignore is kinda arrogant![]()
The MP line is about cartoon accurate figures. Considering the animators completely screwed up the scale on a regular basis Takara is using the guide the animators were supposed to follow to keep everything coherent. I'd have though a G1 nut like yourself would appreciate the effort they are making(P.S. this is not an excuse for more "coffee table" verbal diarrhea)
Now can we please get back to how crap KFC products areGotta say, I'm liking the cassette mode for Badbat. KFC doesn't usually manage to make a good cassette mode with these, but this time they've done it!
That's par for the course with KFC.mooncake623 wrote:I think badbat looks horrible compared to mp rat bat.
Badbat looks likes the g1 toy which is ok but MP ratbat looks like it's straight from the cartoons! =] I will gladly pay for sound blaster to get mp ratbat
First of all, G1 toy scale is being ignored by everyone, except Tsutsukakushi, because it was made up of different Japanese toy lines that originally had nothing to do with each other, and nothing to do with being "slavish to the constraints of kid’s toys". Do you even know where the first couple of years of G1 toys came from?Rated X wrote:First of all when I’m talking “G1 scale”, I’m always talking cartoon scale. I totally disregard the G1 toy scale which was screwed up to begin with because it was slavish to the constraints of kid’s toys.
So you are going back to the arrogant "I speak for everyone" thing again, huh? Takara ruined nothing for me. In fact, they've made it better, because I can now look at my MP's while watching the cartoon to see exactly how they are supposed to scale together when in bot modeRated X wrote:That was a stupid decision by Takara and totally ruined the cartoon scale for you MP collectors.
They are two completely different lines, why must one be bigger than the other?Rated X wrote:MP Ravage is even smaller than classics Ravage that came with hound. What’s up with that ???
Do I need to re-post those gifs?Rated X wrote:But since most of you guys think I just talk a bunch of crap, let’s break out the G1 cartoon and let the pictures do the talking…
The G1 cartoons, as I understand it, were supposed to use the scale chart but that only happened some of the time. So considering that Takara are using the scale chart with the MP line, then yes, he does.Rated X wrote:When going by G1 cartoon scale, does MP Rumble really scale so well with MP Soundwave ?
Again, the cartoon got scale wrong in practically every episode. The Rumble/Frenzy mold is fantastically spot on, they are well scaled for the MP line, and look incredibly show accurate. I agree with Ravage being the worst, but that has nothing to do with his size, and everything to do with his cat mode.Rated X wrote:Of course there were some scenes where the cassettes were drawn smaller on purpose during altercations with Spike, Sparkplug, Chip, etc. But in general the cassettes were all larger in the cartoon. I do feel the MP designers got Lazerbeak’s scale about right in comparison with MP Soundwave. But Rumble/frenzy was a huge fail. And Ravage was the worst…

mooncake623 wrote:Rated X wrote:They are big enough to choke slam a Barbie doll.
How do you possibly know that? do you huge collection of Barbie dolls? Is that why you are always comparing the Masterpiece line to Barbie dolls? (its cool if you do, I'm not judging)
Also if you have a picture of masterpiece Soundwave choke slamming a Barbie doll Please do post pics.

Well, did you not want the cassettes to be compatible with Masterpiece Soundwave either, then? I ask, as the compartment on his chest is sized to accommodate these cassettes, and it pretty much fills his chest area. So you really couldn't make the compartment larger without making Masterpiece Soundwave bigger, Masterpiece Soundwave is a pretty good size as he is, and if they made the cassettes larger as you seem to wish they had, then they wouldn't fit in Masterpiece Soundwave, either.
And I am confused about how you like your scale. You said you don't care about how the G1 toys scaled together, so forget about that. But you seem to want your toys to match G1 cartoon scale when compared with each other.
Now, G1 cartoon scale is a mythic joke, so usually I wouldn't be bothered too much to argue things based on it. But you also mentioned that Lazerbeak was a good size. Now, one piece of G1 scale I think no one would argue is that Soundwave's minions have identically sized alt modes, since they are all cassettes. So if Lazerbeak is a good scale for you, and the cassette alt modes are all supposed to be the same size, how can the others - when they all form identically sized cassettes, not be a proper scale for you?

Hopefully somebody KO's MP Ratbat.

Good idea. Wait it out for a KO.

Alas, that idea doesn't work for those of us with those outdated things known as ethics. Yes, this is I shall admit one of those times that having them bites one in the arse. But still, I think it better to have them then to not have them.

A rather antagonistic statement and one that can be construed as being hypocritical in light of the subject matter at hand....... but to each their own of course.
EDIT: I'm almost hoping it was written in sarcasm because it's that humorous to me.

If they KO Ratbot I fully expect it to be with a KO of SoundBlaster as well. If they had wanted to release KOs of cassettes separately they would have released Lazerbeak already.
