Me. It's an interesting design and there just aren't enough mad doctors in the Decepticon army.

This mold is a piece of ****. I returned 2 of them to bbts. The neck will snap if you attempt to transform him. Somebody said the soundwave version doesnt suffer the same issue, but I wouldnt trust it.

And now he's arrived at BBTS.

I got KFC's Magnificus as soon as it got released and I couldn't be happier with it. I've never found any QC issues with that toy, but perhaps I'm in the minority.

This new redeco looks so weird and creepy I almost like it. I really think it needed a few more paint apps though.

Honestly, I think taking away scalpels bug like movie form has killed the unique persona he had. Ill probably just put my movie scalpel into classics since integrating continuities has become acceptable. Im still scared that this mold is no transformable unless youre willing to force the head/neck into the chest and snap it off. I couldn't make the red version get in there twice and returned both of them to bbts for store credit. The 2nd time I actually opened up the chest piece with a screwdriver and discovered that one of the neck pegs that allow it to flip snaps when you attempt to get the head inside the chest.

I like it well enough to justify the price. However as soon as he comes I'm going to silver-sharpie his guns.

I agree with others this is a pretty unique looking piece, but I like the figure to uniquely be Perceptor.

If I can get it on sale at some point, I may consider it.

I actually had the Magnificus figure and sold it; it just felt so low quality, and certain joints were irreparably loose.

But if this guy goes on sale, I would consider giving the mold a second chance. Surgeon just looks so unique, especially since I use RTS Perceptor and the black Magnificus repaint as those characters in my collection.

This guy looks to be in stock at BBTS & TFsource. Has anyone bought him? If so, what do you think?

I can't seem to find any reviews online. Of all their redecos, this one appeals to me most, and I'd love some outside, in-hand opinions before I decide to pull the trigger (or wait for the inevitable clearance of this odd-ball figure).

Holy hell, that is INSANELY creepy. I love it! Needs a few more paint apps, but eh, I have paints and I have brushes.

Also like that they seem to be releasing a genuinely original design (mildly based off of Movie Scalpel) rather than yet another GEEWUN figure. The question is, should he be called Scalpel or Flatline?

I purchased Surgeon recently as Ace's Toy Store had a sale on him for $25. Just a quick recap, Surgeon uses the Mugen mold from KFC, which originally was released as Magnificus and Perceptor and was generally riddled with QC issues. I'd heard that later releases of Mugen were going to have better quality and this was just the right time and right character to test out.

Overall, I'm happy to say that the quality of this figure is satisfying. Transforming him was a little fiddly because there was a little bit of tightness (!!!) in the hips and also his arms, but with some care it was achievable. I will caution readers that I still worry about the tiny ball sockets for the claws on his chest, as well as connector on his back holding the scope, but otherwise he seems solid. The silver and green paint apps came out well, but he could use a little more just to break up some of the ocean of white on him. Maybe this as truly the intended effect, as it makes him look a bit sterile like operating equipment. I adore the angry headsculpt he has, it reminds me of Owlman from DC (the alternate dimension evil Batman).

Getting this figure months after release (and not having any other versions of the mold), I can say I am thrilled with this purchase. I got the right price (man, if only more 3Ps were priced this way), a unique figure in both mold and character, and I think he arrived at the perfect time, Halloween. This is a fun, spooky figure and I think y'all would enjoy adding him to your collections.

This version reminds me of the crazy surgeon from The Human Centipede. I would to see a comic version of this guy, tempting ignorant bots and cons with offers of contaminated* Energon, only to find themselves spliced together, as some giant robotic cybertronian centipede!
