Looking at Optimus's and the Dinobots robot modes, they really DO look like knights in armor. Plus, their weapons of choice are mele weapons like swords and maces. Also, we get Drift, a Samurai.

What I wonder is the Knight and Samurai theme only for TF4 or will it be for the whole new trilogy, meaning TF5 & 5 as well?

By the way, if they are serious enough with the swoirdfighters theme, I really wish for Bludgeon to appear in the new movies. Make him and Drift have some epic samurai duel!

Well, it's an interesting question, but with no definite answer--at least, until we've actually watched AoE.

The designs of the movie TF's seem to undergo slight thematic changes with each new movie, so anything's possible. In ROTF, they introduced "unicycle" designs for a few characters, and in DOTM, characters like the Dreads seem to have very little noticeable car kibble...or rather, noticeably less than the TF's from earlier movies.

So, going by that, it's possible that the knights and samurai theme might be limited to just AoE, with new ideas and themes for TF5.

I think that in Transformers 5 we will se something new. In movie where plot is only in theory and all is reduced to explosions. New Themes in design is one of a few things that makes each movie different at least in that way...

I hope it's the whole trilogy. It probably will be, since in the last trilogy, their designs stayed mostly the same throughout.

Well. Here is my thing. This movie and the new trilogy is supposed to expand further into the transformers universe. To reach deeper into the pocket of the transformers, or rather toy box and play around with new stuff. The knights and samurais are cool but to an extant. If they introduce a character like cliffjumper or Primus or even Ultra Magnus, are they supposed to look like knights too. Samurais? It all depends for me who the character is. Is a Junkeon gonna look like a samurai and knight? Unicron? I think my point has been made clear. It really for me is a matter of WHO looks like a samurai/knight, not if its based by theme. :-B

True that. Now the question is, WILL WE SEE BLUDGEON IN THE NEW TRILOGY?

Ya Bludgeon would fit the robot cast for age of extinction. But I wouldn't like if he was human made. It would be cool if he was found in Lockdowns ship because he wouldn't be a henchman to Lockdown. And I believe the henchmen are the "five faces of darkness" If you zoom in on the one to the right of Lockdown notice his almost happy face. The one farthest away has one eye and possible jaws. But now that you bring up Bludgeon.... I really want him in AOE!!!!!:)

We'll see when they release the next film (considering the box office receipts, hard to see one not being made). Especially whether or not they decide to chuck any of the characters other than Prime, Bumblebee, and Galvatron in the next film.
