If you disagree with X, I fail to see the issue. We're all just very passionate about X understanding that his original pro-creator stance didn't make much sense in light of his buying practices. It seems his last few posts have transitioned to other topics, which I take as a tacit acknowledgement of his inconsistencies. Or not. Whatever.xyl360 wrote:This thread is wildly entertaining I must admit, but it seems X is sort of being ganged up on here. I don't agree with the guy either
The conversation has turned very meta, but that's OK. Not every thread has to stay on topic, especially if the thread is a few days old.xyl360 wrote:I participated in this discussion earlier too, but all this stuff is way off topic and has really just turned into a debate between one person and several others. I don't think it's productive at all and certainly isn't providing any useful info that I can see about "KO MP-16 Frenzy and Buzzsaw".
It's not like it became uncivil. Just heated... I don't think any lines were crossed.Yotsuyasan wrote:I am frankly amazed the thread didn't get locked at least a page ago.

It's not a matter of whether or not I agree with him, I just recall (from when I was warned about this very type of "heated discussion" when it was just myself and one other person on a thread attempting to "correct" another) that it was a type of behavior which was discouraged on this forum because of how it might look to outsiders visiting this site, especially since it's a site about Transformers, meaning children and families might be prone to showing up here etc.megatronus wrote:If you disagree with X, I fail to see the issue. I think (though I cannot speak for the mod who warned me) that the primary reason for wanting to discourage such behavior was simply that it seemed like a sort of mob mentality that was less than welcoming to newcomers lest they incur the wrath of us "know-it-alls" (and yes, I am totally including myself in that statement because I'm every bit as guilty of exhibiting this very behavior as anyone, just ask Saberblade or Rated X).
I think you've all explained your points quite eloquently and that if X doesn't understand them by now, then he never will. In truth, although I of course cannot speak for him or anyone else in this thread, it's probably more likely that he does understand and simply disagrees. We all have our diverse viewpoints on things and our own rationale and logic behind why we collect, what we collect and how we collect.
I don't like the insinuations in some of his (or others') statements/arguments either (being called a "corporate suck-up" really isn't my preference, but if the shoe fits, then I guess that's what I am), but it doesn't mean that we have to continue to argue our points with him all day either when he has clearly made up his mind on how things work and what he should do with his own money.
X is a very passionate person and speaks his mind in quite an abrasive way sometimes which has a tendency of setting some (like me) off at times, but I guess I've sort of gotten used to him and so I usually just sidestep the harsher aspects of what he says and instead focus on the points he's trying to make. He may be right, he may be wrong, but what he thinks is what he thinks, and if he hasn't been convinced by all of the arguments that have been presented to him by now, I don't think he's ever going to be.

Dude, if you can find a legit (non-KO) device label Ravage for only $50, PLEASE tell me where! I've been seeking one for ages (never bought the KO version because all the KOs appear to be completely different molds from the original). The only one I've found is going for $200 which is way more than I'm willing to pay for that thing, awesome as it may be.

I think you misread him. He's talking about pounds, not dollars.
Although it still might be worth it to you, I don't know the exchange rate offhand.

Ah, right you are, I misread that. Still, that price would be worth it to me.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

But I know if I had to deal with a bunch of people like myself butting heads all day, I wouldnt do it for free. Just my opinion, Im not knocking anyone who does. Outside of the anti KO stance, this site is so much better than TFW2005.
