I was looking forward to getting the KO G1 Devastator but 2bhwu I'd rather have the Encore re-issue anyway.

Otherwise the rest of the stuff on their site looked like crap, imuypho.

So this morning I got an email form Kate (which from what I've read in this thread is really fast response) and this is what it says:

hi sir sorry for the longtime waitting the new year hoilday delay some shipping , i will ship out in our first shipping day in this year and i will send out the tracking nos to you after i ship out . and airmail been slow from nov . so might take longer time to arrive . sorry again for the longtime watting . thanks

I know here in the States the next shipping day is tomorrow but I'll just be happy hearing that it ships out by the end of the week.

Would you promote a KO retailer (even in a private message) if you knew eventually the act of the promotion would get it shut down?

You don't have to answer that...

Try acestoys or chimungmung.

They didn't raise their prices in as much as they didn't have a going out of business sale. There's a BIG difference. >:oP

Anyhow, I'm sure the Wildrider/SG Rodimus KO will pop up somewhere at some point.

wtf are you talking about? i go on those 2 sites to compare prices with kotoys stuff and the second kotoys said it was closing alot of the site down and taking alot of kos off - suprise suprise! both those arseholes raised there prices on everything and then insult you by saying they have a % off the normal overcharged price

theres business and then theres being a dick and screwing people over by raising prices the second the main seller stops

god i miss kotoys....tom was abit insane at times but at least he didnt screw people on prices for sodding kos

Their prices are consistant with the prices once shown on KOToys. Except for their going out of business sale which, of course, had rock-bottom prices on most of their stock.

For instance (going through my e-mails here), I bought Sunstorm right away off KOToys and he was $29.99 with $15 shipping. Ace's current price? Wow, $29.99. Such a difference! Purple clone? $29.99. Ace's current price? $29.99! So, no. No, Ace's prices are not a ripoff; they are the original price for the figures he's selling. He just didn't mark them down like KOToys did.

KO Toys was not and is not the only place on the net to get KOs. It was my first stop, but they aren't the last stop by any means. And they certainly didn't offer the best prices until they wanted to move old product out of the store.

Edit: Also, Aces gets his stock from KOToys. No more KOToys = no more restock for his store. He runs a buisiness not a charity and less product = greater demand. So even if there was a price increase up to the original price of the products ... that's capitalism at work. It's not even price gouging. I don't see how he's being a dick at all.

i mean how can you say ace isnt being a dick? he buys all his stuff off kotoys and then opens a website with higher prices and is then in competition with kotoys? thats like me going to mcdonalds and then buying loads of there stock and selling it off myself. That is how businesses operate. You can't be in business if you buy stock and then sell it at the same price you bought it at. If aces bought this junk off Krazy Owner Toys, they have to be able to make a profit and there are people who will pay higher prices to deal with a store domestically than one based in China (and one with non psycho people in charge). If you think Krazy Owner Toys wasn't making a huge profit on this cheap junk that is probably filled with lead based paint and god knows what else then you are delusional.

Of course it's an old e-mail. Like I said right from the start, I bought them when they first came out at their original price. About $30 is their original price. KOToys marked them down eventually, but that doesn't mean they were always cheaper.

And, if you didn't read their site KOToys has a wholesale option. FYI that means another store, like Ace's, can buy a whole whack of them at a lower price to sell at their own store. In that way KOToys can act as a distributor for other stores ... which is what a LOT of stores in China Town do, BTW. Ace's buying and reselling from KOToys isn't being a dick; it's what KOToys WANTED THEM TO DO. That was part of KOToy's business model! So, no, Aces isn't being a dick at all. Gen Zao even said Aces was okay himself in the forum before the big purge. Ace's is hardly a scalper for charging the original retail price for his wares, even if that price is rather steep for a KO.

So boo-hoo, you have to buy a KO at full price if you miss a sale. Too bad, so sad. Sometimes it happens. Hell, most of the stuff still at Aces has been discounted from it's original price, so maybe you ought to save up and buy what you want before it disappears completely from everyone's second choice for KOs.

Seriously, listen to Gauntlet, he knows what he's talking about.

Also, KOToys overcharged on a lot of the "normal" KOs in the first place, charging like 20 dollars for the same KOs you can buy at Poundland - for a pound.

Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
Just got my order that I placed December 15th. I got Double Shattered Glass Prime and SG Rodimus. Both were actually well packaged and the shipping box was in good condition. When I ordered the figures, the site said that both would be loose. They both, however, came in packaging much to my surprise.

Speaking of surprises, I'm actually shocked at how good the quality is on these guys. I've read and seen horror stories about the KO SG Rodimus figure. People say it's fallen apart right out the box, came with stress marks, was incredibly loose, etc. However, the only problem I have with mine is that the arms pop out pretty easily (which can be remedied with some of my wife's nail polish). The paint aps are spot on, joints are pretty tight, and I haven't seen a stress mark yet.

The same can be said about SG Prime. The quality seems really close to Has/Tak in terms of paint aps and plastic durability. He legs are a little loose, but not so much to the point where he can't hold a pose. His head is also a little looser than I'd like...but it's still not much of a problem.

This really makes me wish I had ordered more from KO Toys. I really wanted Henkei Wildrider, but decided against it based on what I'd heard about the place. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a KO Shadow Scythe armor set to go with my KO SG Roddy.

Again, I'm not sure if I just got pretty lucky, but these KO's seem to be top notch and look great in my collection. Now I may actually get a few more SG figures from this years Botcon to flesh out my small SG collection (aside from these KO's, I had SG Megatron).

Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
If I haven't mentioned before, I made my first (and probably only) purchase from KOToys in the beginning of December when they announced the store was being closed. I thought $39.99 was too high for a knock-off figure (SG Rodimus/Wildrider), but for $20/pc I had to give in.

The complete purchase was SG Rodimus/Wildrider, Black Death Starscream/Sunstorm/Rainmakers, SG Prime, and Xtransbots Powerglide.

The Rodimus figures have a few issues:
*In alt mode the arms/legs don't line up well and makes the sides of the car look a bit funky.
*The spoiler doesn't fit flush against the hood/windshield in robot mode.
*The buzzsaw isn't as detailed as the HasTak version and is extremely loose.
*The posts in the arms that connect to the shoulder socket seem a little short, and the balljoints are either not completely spherical or are just not a good fit.

Seekers suffer from an issue in the left leg where the foot is not able to fold out completely, but I can still stand them in robot mode. Also the fists may be more loose than normal, but it's not always present.

Prime has some loose hips and both of his weapons do not fold in correctly.

Powerglide was alright, although his wings easily detach from the body in robot mode.

Regarding CHMS figures (everything BUT the Powerglide), I'm overall satisfied with my purchases. I can't bring myself to purchase either the FunPub SG Rodimus or Takara Gentei Wildrider at current secondary market prices. Even the official Rodimus release in the 2 or 3 packs suffer from issues, like a loose backpack.

I also agree that paying more than $20/pc for a majority of these figures is a ripoff, and maybe even at $20 it's too much. But I appreciate that these exist, because some of these have different paint jobs (and therefore are different characters) than official releases - I get new characters I wouldn't have access to unless I paid for or made my own custom. I still want to pick up a Diaclone Prime (the all blue one).

The packaging for this shipment was pretty sloppy, but I never expected to receive MISB product; also, didn't seem to be any damage which could be attributed to shipping.

I'm glad I was able to take advantage of the closing sale, and hope that other stores carrying these figures would lower their prices. But I don't know how much these other stores actually paid for their product, and am therefore unable to dictate how much they should be charging per figure.

Swindle01 - several people have tried to be blunt with you about pricing, but after keeping up with this thread and your responses, I can only say that you want to base your opinion of business practices on these store-closing prices. But there was a time not too long ago when KOToys sold these products for the prices you are in disbelief about. It's what kept me from buying any until only a month ago, and it looks like no one else will come close to these prices anytime soon. I hope one day you may be able to get a few of these at a price you are comfortable with.

Finally, Hasbro/Takara - if you ever want to KO some of these figures (ie - reuse your own quality molds and follow the paint schemes of these other characters), it looks like you'll have quite a few takers with myself included.

I got my order today from KO Toys. The three Rain Markers set is good except for the green one (Acid Storm), he has a silver paint spot on his white chest. Drag Strip looks good except for his head, he keeps looking down. If I straiten his head to look straight it falls back down, a simple fix. The Ghost of Star Scream, all I did was open the package and his head assemble fell of to the ground. I didn't even remove the twisty ties yet, needles to say I am very up set about that. I already emailed KO toys to see if I can get a replacement or a refund.

Still waiting for my order of faction symbols, and now also waiting for a reply to the status request for my order. If these things weren't so cheap, I'd be pretty annoyed about now.
