Both Darkside OPs were born out of their respective good OP's dark side and seem to have committed themselves to killing their lighter counterparts.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Except that not all Nemesis Primes are the same, of course.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Nemesis Prime is to the US as Darkside is to Japan. I thought 2003 Nemesis Prime was an actual Prime whose universe followed different events regarding the destruction of Unicron. In that Prime's universe, Unicron actually destroyed Cyberton or something and succeeded. He then captured Prime, tortured him and drove him insane. After that Prime went insane and pledged allegiance to Unicron (Stockholme syndrome much?) Unicron gave him the dead matrix which was basically that Prime's orginal matrix, only perverted by all the torture. Therefore, he's not really a clone, just Optimus Prime from a pretty screwed up dimension who changed his name from Optimus Prime to Nemesis Prime after Unicron basically converted him to evil.
Yep, he's a clone too. His universe's Optimus Prime was killed by Megazarak. It was this Prime's corpse that was cloned and tortured by Unicron.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:WolfDawg wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Both Darkside OPs were born out of their respective good OP's dark side and seem to have committed themselves to killing their lighter counterparts.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Except that not all Nemesis Primes are the same, of course.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Nemesis Prime is to the US as Darkside is to Japan. Nope, he's definitely a clone. TFWiki him.

I wonder if some comic book artist decides to make a blue Megatron and call him "Aquatron" would Takara start repainting every Megatron mold blue and get rich again ???
Like DOTM Darkside OP, United Darkside OP is also a manifestation of G1 Optimus's dark side.
In United Darkside Megatron's case, however, he is a manifestation of G1 Megatron's insanity.

The "traditional" Optimus Prime character doesnt have a dark side. Thats just something a comic book writer came up with in the 90's.
And in my opinion, Megatron was never insane. He was always on point. It was Galvatron who had problems controlling his temper. Cyclonus once captured him and put him through therapy on planet Torkulon to try and help him manage his anger. (of course it failed)
