Episode 114-116 of the Transmissions podcast, according to the hosts, has had numerous leaked images sent to them of the upcoming Titan Wars line.
TransMissions Episode 116 - SDCC Highs and Lows | TransMissions
Here is a breakdown of the news of the leaks so far, take with a grain of salt, since they won't publish the pictures to the public.
Titan Wars will be heavy with Headmasters, base gimmicks and cassette.
Figures will include:
1. Leader Powermaster Optimus Prime, heavy remold of Combiner Wars Leader Ultra Magnus. This will be a Headmaster/Powermaster.
2. Soundwave, headmaster, a heavy remold of Titan Wars Blaster, alt modes include base and a ipod hifi type mode.
3. Legends Eject. Alt modes include the tablet mode we saw on upcoming Legends Buzzsaw and another tank.
4. Legends Stripes. Tiger mode looks a lot like Steeljaw, but different colors.
--
Rumors for 7/31/2015
1. We have confirmation that Blaster is Leader Class. We also have word that Leader Class Optimus Prime's head will turn into a Ginrai.
2. It does not look like Cerebros will have a vehicle alt mode (perhaps a base alternate mode?).
3. You can expect the other Headmasters to be released in Voyager Class like Brainstorm, and the heads for all the Titan Wars Headmasters will be compatible with Generations Brainstorm. They will all come with a small beast mode partner who becomes a vehicle the head can ride.
4. For the Deluxes in Titan Wars, expect the 1986 movie robots in Cybertronian alt modes.
--
Rumors for 8/7/2015
1. Titan Wars will have a Legends class Rewind, Rumble and Frenzy.
2. Titan Wars will have a Headmaster Galvatron, size class unconfirmed.
--
Rumors for 8/14/2015
This week's Transmissions Titan War leaks.
1. Titan Wars Headmaster Galvatron will NOT be a remold of Combiner Wars Leader Megatron. Its form is based on G1 Galvatron toy and IDW Spotlight Galvatron.
2. The "Deluxes" in Titan Wars will perhaps be larger and more complex than recent Deluxes, possibly with a larger price point more like a Voyager.
3. The small partners that come with the figures for Titan Wars will be called "Titan Masters".
--
Rumors for 8/21/2015
Just the one piece of news/rumor for this week.
1. There will be a Titan Wars Headmaster Sentinel Prime. He will be a Headmaster. His colors are based on the WFC Sentinel Prime. Size class and alt mode unknown.
--
Rumors for 8/28/2015
1. There will be a Titan Wars Alpha Trion toy. Size class unknown. It seems to have beast mode kibble on it. Possibly a triple changer with beast and ship alt modes.
2. Upcoming Headmasters will include Brainstorm (may or may not be a reuse of the Voyager Generations mold), Chromedome, Hardhead, Highbrow, Nightbeat, Siren, Horribull and Skullcruncher.
3. Upcoming Deluxe 1986 movie accurate figures will include Scourge and Blurr.
--
Rumors for 9/4/2015
1. Titan Wars Headmaster Galvatron and Headmaster Sentinel Prime will both be VOYAGER class figures.
2. Titan Wars Alpha Trion is NOT a remold of Combiner Wars Sky Lynx (this was a question asked last week).
3. Cassettes coming out include Ravage (turns into a PDA and a plane) and Rumble (red and black, turns into PDA and tank).
4. The Headmaster (called Titanmaster) figures will have helmets built into the figures, and the head figured will fit into the helmets. You can swap the heads to change the faces.
5. Headmaster Blaster's head looks like a tiny Blaster, Headmaster Soundwave's head looks like a tiny SG Soundwave.
--
Updates for 9/25/2015
1. Combiner Wars (yes a Combiners Wars rumor!) will have a G2 Bruticus boxed set.
2. Titan Wars Headmaster Brainstorm will be a Deluxe, not the Generations Voyager mold.
3. Titan Wars Decepticon Headmasters will include Mindwipe and Weirdwolf.

I feel sorry for Ryan, if he feels compelled to put every headmaster into every armor for the galleries
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Ugh. Galvatron finally gets a Voyager figure and it's pretty damn ugly with a stupid head gimmick.
Blaster would be fine if voyager sized. Makes no sense for him to be so large. Yes the G1 toy was pretty big but that's excused by most of the early G1 toys being from all sorts of different sources. I sold my FoC Blaster thinking this one looked better but if he's going to tower over all my Voyagers and Deluxes (most of whom I've chosen various sizes to suit the characters in my opinion) I'm not going to bother and just hope there may be a downsized knock off at some point.
Hardhead interests me cos he was one of my fave Headmaster toys I had as a kid and this update actually looks well done. So yeah he's on my 'probably' list. The rest don't even come close.

I would just remind people that the Original G1 Blaster toy was unusually tall too.

I mentioned it in my post just before yours but to me it's no excuse for a new toy of him to be so large especially since he's never been shown to be unusually bigger in any fiction.
The Marvel comics TF fan in me still wants to have a decent G1 Blaster and Lord Straxus of roughly the same size to battle against re-enacting the story that made me love the comics Blaster so much back then. I guess we were lucky enough just to even get a Deluxe Straxus. But of course that looks ridiculous next to a giant Blaster.

Re: NYCC 2015 Preview Night New Titan Returns Reveals
I don't even think he's that big - look at Galvatron height wise he's only up to Bruticus' crotch. I suspect it's not unlikely that the Titan's Return line's Leaders are a lot smaller (or at least shorter) than say Leader Megatron is. In the images they appear to be more in keeping with the size of something smaller.
I think the whole idea of fondly liked characters like Nightbeat being "Just a head" is going to drive some people's OCD crazy.
Oh though my reaction is middling - I do like the line to some extent - but I still think they offer no danger at all to 3rd parties aside from perhaps Blaster who is reasonably solid - I suspect 3rd parties will not need to have to much fear about the Galvatrons in the works not selling - as there will be plenty of people who will be less than impressed by a Galvatron Headmaster conceptually speaking it's just a bit "Wrong" for him to be one - even if it turns out he's just some brainless Neo-tector for the little head fella.
Hardhead puzzles me a little he only looks a bit like the original toy - he seems to have a widened torso and is much like the cartoon's slightly distorted design in some ways - I hope there is another way to attach the gun as for design balance reasons I'd want the rifle to be worn on the other track not on top of the gun.
The large 3rd party masterpiece scale one has nothing to worry about though that is still 6,000,0000 times better than the Hasbro one.

Re: NYCC 2015 Preview Night New Titan Returns Reveals
I know a lot of people are excited about headmasters but i'm really not as i've always hated the gimmick where if you lose the head the toy is basically useless and stuck in one mode because it looks daft and incomplete when in robot mode.
Massive shame that Blaster, Soundwave and Galvatron will now suffer from a terrible gimmick i wanted all three characters but now I really won't get them. shame.
Although I am happy for those that are excited for it.

Since we don't need two explanations for the same figure in a row I'll change my comment.
Is it just me or does that Hardhead look like a voyager and not a deluxe? It looks pretty damn beefy and looks to be larger overall than Skullcruncher. Also it might just be the illusion of distance in the pictures but Hardhead looks like he'd tower over Windblade and come up to around Bruticus' pelvis whereas Skullcruncher looks like he comes up to Sky Reign's knee.
I think the sheer level of sculpting on Hardhead also helps: I'd expect to see that on a Voyager not a Deluxe. Plus, I think my brain also assumed he'd be sized to match Brainstorm. But yeah, he's one beefy deluxe!

Wait, what? I just assumed Hardhead was a Voyager. That will be weird if he is a deluxe, because Brainstorm is a pretty big voyager.brokenchopstick wrote:Alpha Weltall wrote:carytheone wrote:So I'm slowly going over the images and I notices something. Whats up with that Windblade back there?

Hold on! Where's Fort Max? as we now know that Blaster can connect to him
+ I hope they do a Brainstorm, coz the Generations one is bloody hard to find in physical stores(B&M) in the UK!(YES, I know B&M are currently restocking & people in the UK are beginning to spot the odd Brainstorm & Doubledealer cropping up)

It's doubtful they would do a new brainstorm, at least, at this point in proceedings. Maybe next year.
As for Fort Max I'm guessing he's been saved for tonight if indeed he's going to be the next titan class. If no reveal here then we may have to wait till next year at the new York toyshow.

Updates for 9/25/2015

2. Titan Wars Headmaster Brainstorm will be a Deluxe, not the Generations Voyager mold.
3. Titan Wars Decepticon Headmasters will include Mindwipe and Weirdwolf.
First of all....that's pish that they're going with Magnus as a remold for Powermaster Prime! means his cab can't turn into a robot! but the upside is...at least you can store the Powermaster figure where Minimus Ambus would normally go!
Also
Pity they couldn't add a combiner peg to the deluxe movie accurate Scourge! that way you could've connected him to CW Cyclonus!(granted he'd be still missing 3 other limbs! but....it's a start).

The Blaster and the reissues and Twincast are all the same mould family any changes are fairly minor like making the chest hold two cassettes on some versions.
I've never handled a Platinum Blaster so thanks for reminding me something that I'd previously forgot to ask - so I'll ask does that now does the Platinum Blaster hold 2 cassettes or one ?
Anyway The reissues and G1 original and the platinum are bigger toys height wise than Cybertron/Universe Blaster or even WFC/FOC Blaster.
I wonder if they've considered that the Titan-Master minivehicle things could shape wise replicate Actionmaster Companions as I am getting a hint from them of that sort of look to them - especially the new dinosaur's resemblance to Tyrannitron.
P.s.
It turns out the reason Galvatron looks small is he's a Voyager not a leader.

Hardhead is a definite buy for me.
The rest I'll need to see in hand before I make a decision.
Only slight annoyance I have is that the Titan Master minibots have the "blockiness" of the old G1 Headmasters. Something along the lines of Minimus Ambus would have satisfied me for articulation.
*On a side note the G1 Headmaster back story was cr@p in my view. With this version it looks like small robots boosting bigger robots. This I'm okay with.

Re: NYCC 2015 Preview Night New Titan Returns Reveals
Dropping in to say YIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Mini-Headmaster sets? Kind of down. This maybe reduces the possibility of Horri-Bull, Fangry, Siren, or an actually good Nightbeat though I'm especially sad that this likely means no Squeezeplay or Minerva. If any of the Deluxe/Voyager Headmaster molds are cars I feel like we'll see some repaints down the line though. Other than that I'll probably buy these all.
Deluxe Headmasters? I wish they would all be Voyagers, and I wish that they'd been made a few years ago when part count wasn't down, but these are still INCREDIBLY exciting for me. I can't believe we're getting a new Skullcruncher! Now my fingers are just crossed for the other 7 1987 Headmasters to make it through the gate. Especially Chromedome, Mindwipe and the Horrorcons.
Voyager Headmasters? Actually I'd love for the Horrorcons to be in this scale. I'm going to wait for any announcement before I get excited, but if Hasbro makes a line of HEADMASTER TRIPLE CHANGERS and doesn't include Snapdragon, Apeface, or both, I may have to choke a bot. Anyway, Galvatron looks pretty decent, don't really care that he's a Headmaster, hope we get a version that's less just block purple.
Leader Headmasters? Blaster isn't a great start here (though I dig that he'll be roughly of a height with MP Soundwave) but I'd be interested to see a Scorponok.
I'm cautiously optimistic.

@Diem Takara's take on Galvatron could be the answer to that

Many parts your put in bold are NOT confirmed and I will detail it so that people are not confused. Also, I would not put too much of high hopes for tomorrow since Hasbro did send out a release to the press (ei Seibertron) with the class descriptions and official images and only a few from the Titan Master class were not present on the preview night. So I think for the most part, we have seen the min reveals. Now lets break down what may indeed not be confirmed:
4. Legends Stripes. Tiger mode looks a lot like Steeljaw, but different colors.
- Firstly, we already had a listing for stripes long ago. Wha we didnt know was how he looked like. Doesnt look like Steeljaw to me, this has a way more narrow head and no mane.
3. You can expect the other Headmasters to be released in Voyager Class like Brainstorm, and the heads for all the Titan Wars Headmasters will be compatible with Generations Brainstorm. They will all come with a small beast mode partner who becomes a vehicle the head can ride.
- The other headmasers are NOT released in voyager class like Bainstorm and they DO NOT come wth smaller beast mode partners. Those are bought seperately with individual heads.
2. The "Deluxes" in Titan Wars will perhaps be larger and more complex than recent Deluxes, possibly with a larger price point more like a Voyager.
- They sure as hell dont look more complex than the deluxe class and not sure about them being that much larger, thats yet to be confirmed.
2. Upcoming Headmasters will include Brainstorm (may or may not be a reuse of the Voyager Generations mold), Chromedome, Hardhead, Highbrow, Nightbeat, Siren, Horribull and Skullcruncher.
- Only Hardhead and Skullcruncher are confirmed. The rest are just heads that come with a little vehicle. No sights or mention of Brainstorm.
4. The Headmaster (called Titanmaster) figures will have helmets built into the figures, and the head figured will fit into the helmets. You can swap the heads to change the faces.
5. Headmaster Blaster's head looks like a tiny Blaster
-This is only the case with Blaster (since the titan master doesnt fit into a helmet for Galvatron) and even then the face will not change that much sice his helmet takes over much of the titan master. The face will change more for Galvatron. Also it's the leader headmasters (not titan masters) that have the built in helmet.

No.

Right there with you. You cant just sa you will have triplechanging headmasters and NOT release them. That's like saying you are making combiners and releasing Scattershot but NOT Computron... oh crap.

Re: NYCC 2015 Preview Night New Titan Returns Reveals
I'm pretty happy we're getting a new Galvatron, as I'm a pretty big Galvatron fan. It's ironic that both he and Cyclonus are getting new gimmicks. Now we just need some weird left-field gimmick for Scourge. How about making him a Pretender? Gotta say, Combiner Wars missed a trick by not releasing him as a limb.
But I'm big into 3rd parties too, and I'm not sure this Galvatron will replace Mania King. I'll get it anyway (and especially any toyetic repaints), but even so the proportions all look a bit off compared to MK. On the other hand he doesn't have monkey arms, so there's that.
Blaster ... I dunno. Label Blaster is a great size for him in my book. Leader seems too big. Ditto the inevitable Soundwave repaint. I may stick with what I have for both (Label Blaster, WFC Soundwave). We'll see.
Headmasters, well ... geez, I guess I gotta decide. Because I was never into Headmasters as a kid. Except for Squeezeplay who is not present. It might be that these are cheap enough for me to impulse buy if I see them at Toys R Us. Or I may just avoid it and buy something I really, really like.
As for the tapes the MPs are the end of that for me. I don't think I'll ever need another version of any of those guys.

I for one have taken a liking to the blockier headmaster design. Makes them look much more stable
