I was there as well. Quite an impressive presentation! I was very surprised to hear that classics will continue!
Though I have to admit that I'm a bit pissed that Hasbro even stated that the remaining 6 inch Titaniums will be hard to find.
There's already at least 3 waves that I haven't found!

One Word: BLITZWING!!!!!
Yesss. I've so wanted an updated Blitzwing. Hope he makes it into the Ultra Class. That Shockwave mould would be great in the universe line. Obviously not as an ultra sized toy. but he'd work even as a highly detailed deluxe. Even though the gun mode would be a little small, the Look is just impressive.
Its Sad about the Titaniums, But of course they weren't selling. They weren't anywhere to be bought, and when they were its like only 2 o 3. Well except for Soundwave, he was a dime a dozen.
But still the distribution on those was a little less than stellar.
The Cartoon sounds interesting, but I'm still on the fence about the whole "Extremely Stylized" look. but hey if the toys are good. Who cares about the Cartoon.
I'm hoping they come out with some more characters for the new universe line. Some of the minibots need new forms like Beachcomber, Warpath. I'd love to see The Stunticons. Ahh so much potential.
And I'm still hoping for a Seacon re-release.
Any way, There's gonna be a triple chainging Blitzwing. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!.
Thanx for the Info Seibs.

Awesome news all around. My (likely fruitless) hope of having a Wheeljack Robot Hero will only grow from here...
And it sounds like the new cartoon is going to be an exercise in badassery. A little disheartening to hear that Optimus won't be doing the full-time faceplate and that he's the "Taz" transformer, but the reports of the show's production take the edge off considerably.
Well, except that Prowl's a ninja. That's just outta left field.
Also glad to hear that the Autobot Bros. and Jazz are going to be showing-up in the Classi--er, Universe styling. Man, next year is going to be costly...

Toy trademarking only lasts for a few years which is why they keep reusing the names. It's kind of a "use it or lose it" type of thing.
okay. but why multiple times at once (except for the movie)? Universe Prowl were the biggest culprits of this.

That sums it up well. The animation is so but ugly its not going to matter if the story is good. While your waching you'll be saying "what the hell have they done to you prime?" and miss the hole show because you cant stand the way they look. No matter what i will always hate the new look. Just like i will always hate they way movie Megatron looks. Tell them we fans need a show. Even if we only get a season at least we had something.
People said the same thing about The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker too and it ended up being a great game.
Shrug.
I hated that zelda. And im sure ill keep hateing the new animation. I dont like animation like that. Thats why i dont watch cartoons anymore. The animation sucks as do the shows them selves. Unless this new cartoon has a really good (and not directed only at kids)story then im not going to bother. Oh and no more 10-14 year old main characters! Im sick of the Autobots haveing to rescure dumb little kids all the time. And its not right that the D-Cons always lost because of a little kid. NO MORE I SAY!
Im happy to hear about leader bonecrusher. I love the deluxe version. Also glad to hear about Galvatron. Thank god for classics 2.0. I hope they use those titanium molds for classics 2.0 that would be sweet. Im hopeing that they make leader or at least voyager versions of all the movie bots. Mainly Barricade and Jazz. Was there any news on G1 re-issues? It looks like im not going to have any money(again). Have to pay bills, car insurance and now classics 2.0. I really need to find a good job and fast.

Well, there were some pros and cons here. Major ones.
Pros:
Movie figures will continue. (YES!)
Classics will return. (Out of left field, but YES!)
Masterpiece Starscream is a Wal-Mart exclusive, and affordable. (YES!)
Excellent voice cast for the cartoon. (No, seriously, as much as I hate the overall feel of the cartoon, I'm impressed they were willing to use a cast this good. "WEIRD" AL FTW!)
Cons:
Cartoon toys will basically look like their animation model counterparts. (This is a travesty. The animation style is awful and translating it into plastic makes it even worse.)
Classics figures will go under the Universe heading, which I'm sure a lot of stores will be apprehensive about carrying. (Although, being that they are clearly new molds should shut them up.)
Seacons/Piranaking *STILL* up in the air. Maybe, maybe not, etc. (This is growing tiresome. I'd much rather have them, than not. However, quit screwing around and dangling the carrot in front of us. Make a final decision. It's driving us nuts!)
Final thoughts:
From everything I've seen and heard so far, this year's showing was a mixed bag of positives and negatives. Running too much neck and neck for my tastes. (Of course I'd want more positives, who wouldn't?)
I see why they killed Alternators, and I'm fine with it, although...some of their best molds were at the tail end of the line. Perhaps if they had just distributed them better, along with more of the same incredible engineering behind Mirage...Alternators could've really been something great.
I'm glad (and I do mean GLAD) that they killed off the Titaniums line. Overall, it didn't sell well in my area, and what did sell, happened to be the most popular ones, leaving their less than successful shelfmates to be the worst dust collectors in years. Great idea, bad execution.
I'm absolutely ecstatic that they've decided to continue with the movie line for a while. It shows what Hasbro is truly capable of, and that they should continue that trend. Not always pretty, but definitely kick ass robots. Wouldn't kill Hasbro to make movie-esque figures for the collectors.
It's a little disheartening to see that the mainline for 2008 is going to be so dumbed down. No, I know, it's aimed at the correct demographic, as it should be...but it's just a really sad state of affairs in my book. The cartoon designs aren't the worst I've ever seen, period. They are, however, the worst for TFs. The fact that they're translating it into plastic just makes it mind boggling for me.
Yes, collectors will be thought of (and I appreciate it, I really do!) and I know kids are the main focus (and I'm fine with that), but it seems like it might be a tad barren in '08 for certain collectors, such as myself. I'll collect Universe (because Classics were terrific. No ifs, ands, or buts about it...) and I'll definitely buy more of the movie line. (Damn you TransFormers The Game! Damn you and your drone figures that kick so much ass...damn you hard!)
The problem is...what if the figures suck? I'm not trying to be funny. Let's face it...those of us who hate the cartoon designs, and those of you who hate the movie designs realize that the figures can, in fact, suck. So, what do we do in the interim? And before anyone says "stick it in a savings account" or something like that, don't bother. There's a time and place for that, this is about our vices. We deserve a little something for us every now and then...and for us collectors...TransFormers happens to be that vice.
I don't know. I might be worrying too much, but I do feel there's a big let down coming soon, and some of us will just be left waiting for the next big thing, but if we're left waiting too long...we'll no longer give a damn and walk away. I've seen people do it before, and they'll do it again. I can't imagine not being a TF collector, or being involved, period. But, it's possible, it's happened once before...(I replaced TFs with TMNT and MMPR) and if it wasn't for "Code Of Hero", BW would've never brought me back. (It's the defining episode of the entire series. If that episode doesn't convert you into a fan, then nothing will.)
Yeah, I could collect reissues, but I don't give a damn about G1 anymore. It's just not my thing. I'm not a RiD fan by any means, either.
*sighs*
I have hope, but I'm still afraid of "TeH suck".

Yeah, that's what they said at the panel. It really has me interested to hear his voice. Sadly, we didn't get to hear Screamer's voice in the "sizzle" that we saw.

We did get to hear most of the Autobots voices though. They all sounded pretty good except for Prime. He just sounded too young for my tastes. I'm sure it'll grow on me over time, but it wasn't a good first impression on me.

Blitzwing was my favourite, but I would have prefered a Classics version. I am really looking forward to the new Universe line. I was able to talk to Aaron about it later and he said there will be a little bit of the old Universe line in it(repaints of figures from the past 20 odd years).

The whole presentation restored a lot of lost faith in Hasbro. 2007-2008 looks very promising

I think we might have seen our Classics Cosmos:

Putting two and two together, the mold shown on the Hasbro tour looks very much like the concept art shows for Classics Cosmos a year earlier. That combined with the statement that these Titanium molds might make they're way into the Universe/Classics line ... Well, even with this just being a guess, I'm more excited than ever! Thank god they're continuing with the Classics!

Well, even though it sounds like the CN Transformers toy will look like melted or deformed hunks of plastic, the fact that the classic line will indeed continue makes up for it.
I am saddened that the Titanium line is dropped. I was just getting into them. But, given all the problems many of those figures had, it isn't too big of a loss. It seems like Bumblebee (cybertronian form), Cosmos, Arcee, and Soundwave may yet find life in the Classics line. Which may be a good thing. Titaniums are the most posable of figures, Classics figs are generally very posable, so it could be a good thing.
I hope we get a sh*tload of new movie figures!
Not just repaints, but new molds too. Some Voyagers and Deluxes would be nice, more Voyager figures though.
It's too bad we don't have at least 1 picture of what the cartoon toys will look like. It would really help a lot for those of us on the fence, or completely worried. However, I respect Hasbro's desire to keep it under wraps until they are ready.

You know, reading the panel, I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to the show.
I was thinking about it, and when Teen Titans first aired, I thought it looked retarded as hell, especially since it wasn't in the JLU style.
Then, watching it, I got used to it, and saw they had a badass story to go along with it, and I was pissed when they canceled the show.
So, since it's the same writers I believe, I think we can look forward to a damned good show.
I just hope they get the little things correct, like Grimlock talking like an idiot, but not actually being an idiot.
Can't wait for the new classics, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker will be right up there.

If Classics will continue as Universe, maybe Hasbro will finally consider making that Energon remold of Strongarm to create Brawn? Eh? Eh?
Now a retooled trailer to add onto Classics Prime could make for an interesting Powermaster Prime/Ginrai homage. AND, it'd finally help Optimus catch up to Megatron in height.
Another nifty Robot Heroes exclusive should be Unicron's Emissaries: thow in a cardboard Unicron diorama, a unique Galvatron (either cartoon or UK comic/toy colors), Cyclonus, Scourge, and some Sweeps.

Well, I still don't like the style of the new animated Heroes cartoon, but if Seibertron said it's amazing, then I have found new hope.
Why are Hasbro acting so secretive with the female bots and I get the impression of Takara, something shady of the lost molds for the dinobots? I'm glad some where asking questions about Arcee and I too also hope for an Elita-one comic, but not just a club exclusive, that's lame for me. Oh, yay, more female decepticons, that's sounds interesting. Can't wait to see the new Starscream animated, but I hope he has a face... and nothing like in the live movie, ....*holds breath*?
I knew those horrid movie figures wouldn't go away, I hope at least the detail and scale will be better? But I extremely hate the movie line, I really want to see them in fire or acid, espeacially Starscream's and Megatron's design. The movie was awsome, the look still suck, and the toys even more. But that's just me.
I'm going to miss the alternators line, but It's cool some classics are coming.

Evething I have dreamed of is here. It doesn't sound like it will be a bunch of crappy figures to make a buck of the animated show. It sounds like these focused on collecters and kids alike. Which is the way it should be. The only thing I was dispointed in as far as the annoucemnts that have come so far is the mp starscream is going to be walmart exlusive. I wonder if they are going to cut corner to make it 59.99, like take out the die cast metal and make all plastic.
