Looking to mod my LC Optimus Prime

Postby Spindash54 » Sun Oct 14, 2007 9:50 pm

Hey everyone, this may be a first post but I'm no means clueless.

Recently I've been thinking over the lights in the LC Prime. They're yellow, but in the packaging artwork, they glow blue:

I've been doing a little disassembling of him, and I've removed the legs from his base, so I've got just the body and arms, but I'm having trouble getting at his "core." I unscrewed the "clip" on his lower back and the two screws at the top right of the bulge on his back, but I can't seem to get anything to budge.

I also undid the one screw on his head. It's kinda coming apart, but it seems something might still be holding in place at the base. I'd try splitting it more, but I'd rather not risk breaking something.

And on a fun unrelated moment as part of my introduction, I present an unholy combination of the two never-ending shows with giant robots:

Not 100% it was him, but I believe that Jin Saotome tried the same thing, but found that Leader Prime is glued together, making it night impossible to get into his chest to switch the lights over to the more aesthetically pleasing blue.

I think he got the eyes LED changed though...
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Yeah, there it is. Thanks for the link.

Jeeze, I hope this is simpler than he makes it sound...

I took a LC as far apart as I could. I got the legs, waist, arms, feet, and other junk off, but never could crack his chest. And his head would open up a bit but there was something still connecting it, and since I was selling that figure, I didn't press the issue. His torso is very tough indeed. Don't know what else to tell you. :-(
