I think *edit*, and that Bay should just *edit* and all of you on here can go and *edit* yourselves. I just can't stand *edit* and if I have to *edit* one more time I'm just going to *edit* myself and then I'll show all of you that *edit* isn't worth *edit* until *edit* and *edit* *edit* *edit*

Take that you *edit*

...and another one

*edit*

Whew...I feel better. Sorry to offend, but I just had to speak my mind.

I'm okay with more humor- as long as it's actually funny. But not if it's **** stupid and over-the-top like in ROTF.

But I get the sneaking suspicion "LOLZ MORE COMEDY" actually means "now with poop jokes!"

I just hope that Bay's 'comedy' doesn't ruin the movie. Cuz that would really suck.

I hate to say it but I have been with Transformers since the begining and it has never not been goofy. The only time I have ever seen serious is the import cartoons and dubbed shows suck. Then there is a few of the comics.Besides that TF has always been silly. The movie really improved the comedy compared to what I'm used to.I think the movie is the best thing to happen to motion pictures TF's.Bay's not perfect but i can only imagine these movies being way worse from someone else.I fear when bay is done the next movies they make will suck.Keep in mind this is still hasbro's baby and it will never get a rated R movie. Its will always be aimed mostly at children, there will always be humans and always be silly humor.Like all blockbuster movies ever made with a PG-Pg13 rating.I personally like the comedy.I Lamo when I saw Devestators balls and Wheelie humping legs.Kinda broke up the movie a little and made it fun.At the end of the day a fun movie is all I want. The first two Transformers are my favorite two movies ever.It was a child hood dream to see it like that.Only thing that can beat it is the third movie. Some of the haters need to lighten up just a bit.Go watch G1 then watch the movie tell me whats silly.

First of all more action isnt going to save this movie, a good and well thought out story is. ROTF had some good battle scenes but the movie still sucked. Bays answer to every thing is more explosions & more action. Some times it works but not here. And more comedy from some one who has no clue how to incorporate comedy into these films, wonderful. Hopefully this time around he didnt go to a bunch of 9 year olds for comedic input. If these movies were ment for the kiddies they wouldnt be pg-13. Yeah sure keep some of the low brow humor its always funny at some points but dont rely on it. Oh and for the person who said Bay is better than Cameron, your an ass my friend and obviously know nothing about cinema. Cameron has had way better movies across his career than Bay has. Yes Bay has had a few good movies (none of which are the TF movies) but Cameron has had more and hes a much better director & writer.

My problem is, the process by which he decided what was "funny" in the second movie seemed to entail going to a group of kids, saying a bunch of key words and observing which ones got the most giggles. And by the looks of it, "hump" and "balls" won out.

He can include humor in this movie without resorting to cheap and crude jokes. It just takes some creativity and taste. And I know his budget is big enough for that.

Besides, am I just crazy, or do I remember Bay stating that he was going to tone down the "stupid humor" this time around?

Edit:

That doesnt mean ****. Some people who know about cinema and know that most people like a good story dont give a **** about story while they're watching a movie. Only when they make one, do they really care.

But I got a huge feeling it's gonna be just as bad as ROTF.

Oh yeah, the lines of the first one, like: No story (At least ROTF tried!), Stupid humor (don't kid yourself, the first movie had almost as much of this as ROTF.), Robots who do nothing (just a bunch of soldiers shooting at air then when robots do fight you cant see **** because the camera is shaking and they always cut to humans running.), big boring ass sections of the movie (The whole movie has this big 1 hour spot where absolutly nothing happens!) like 2 robots through the whole movie (this is what people complained about in the first movie, then they complained that ROTF had too many robots.) A villain who AGAIN does **** until the last 5 minutes of the movie, a punk-ass Optimus who got his ass kicked, more military guys shooting ****, and Sam screaming "no, no, no" the whole got damn time! Dont get me wrong, I like the first one too, but I'm just saying.

Before ROTF, I liked Bay's movies. I loved The Rock and TF1. Armaggedon and Bad Boys 1 were fun. They all had well executed humour. I mean I was sceptical with TF1 when I saw the robot designs but I went in hoping to have my fears put to rest and they were. I knew Bay could be funny but I was surprised as to how funny TF1 would be. Very pleasantly surprised. But it also had a story. But then came ROTF.

I was ready to leave the cinema after half an hour and left the film at the end fuming but I watched it a few more times with my expectations lowered and focussed on the good stuff, mainly the Decepticons.

It's a shame because the first TF film was great. It had a story. It was very funny and they couldn't have done Prime better.

What ruined ROTF for me was 4 things:

Leo

The robot designs for the Twins, Demolisher and Wheelie.

The poor comedy. I loved the parents in the first but they were annoying in the second.

The Jetfire/Seeker story seemed to be missing something.

Also, having enjoyed TF1 so much, I had high hopes for ROTF.

I do hope TF3 turns out well. I've liked a few of Bay's movies and I want to see a return to form. My main concern from the rumours is the more comedy coupled with a larger role for Leo. He was a terrible character, as annoying as Armada Carlos ever was.

More comedy huh? Will it be more along the lines of the crap we have had so far? Crass teenage jokes and terrible over acting? If these films are for kids then why jokes about humping dogs and robots with balls? I remember very little comedy from either film aimed at children.

As for 3D, its hard enough to keepp track of the action sequences in 2D when the robots are so close to the screen, though they did seem to ease that slightly in ROTF. Im not looking forward to being confused in 3D.

However, will wait until I actually see the film. Though I wont see it in 3D if I get the option and if that means waiting for the blu ray then so be it.

Sweet. this is exactly what the franchise needs.

Tf1 and 2 are cinematic classics. I thought it was inpossible to improve on cinematic perfection, but I was wrong.

well, just don't build the film around action set pieces and explosions... do it the other way round.

That would be a really sucky ass Transformers movie. I can see doing it for other movies, but movies about giant robots, no. Just no. That was my problem with Wall-E I hated that movie because it was about robots with no explosions.

You're comparing WALL E to Transformers? The only thing they have in common is robots in the lead roles. The way WALL E turned out, it was brilliant. It was a movie with barely any dialogue, none by the main characters, IIRC. It was the best PIXAR movie made, with maybe The Incredibles coming close. Yeah, if your expectations were explosions then you might have been disappointed. But the story of WALL E was outstanding, even better than the first Transformers.

I found WallE Pixar's worst film, and I didn't go in expecting explosions as every single other Pixar movie I have loved(Toy Story even being my favorite movies ever)...but that really has nothing to do with TransFormers...

How I intereted the comment at debate is that they should focus more on the actual movie than just explosions...I think...

I'm sorry to say it, but this is one time where you're wrong. Building a movie around explosions and special effects is a bad, bad way to make a movie, and we have proof of that in countless Hollywood flicks.

No, you build a story, and if it calls for explosions and what not, then you work them in, not the other way around. That's just silliness. That's not a movie, that's the world's longest music video, from Hell.

Wall-E wasn't supposed to be about explosions. It was about how self destructive humanity is, and seeing our situation through the eyes of another. A little robot that had more heart and more humanity than most people. His longing for companionship, people, and his child like sense of wonder as he ventures into the stars, is beautiful. Sometimes haunting, sometimes sad, but ultimately beautiful.

A movie like that doesn't need explosions. It needs heart, and it had a hell of a lot of it. Wall-E and TransFormers aren't even in the same realm. TransFormers couldn't hope to be.

And I loved ROTF, but it can't even be compared to Wall-E.

ROTF is a popcorn matinee. Wall-E is a classic.

thats it exactly, HEART, you actually care about the little robot, it's GREAT moving storytelling. I dont think you could make Transformers that way, cos theres a lot more robots for a start, but story story STORY... that is what this medium was invented for, and directors, scriptwriters and actors all have a duty to deliver something other than just action. Even if it doesn't quite work, there can be beauty in just TRYING to reach for something more.
