Lorenzo Di Bonaventura Talks Transformers

In the interview di Bonaventura talks about where the movie is at, at this moment.
"I think it’s everybody’s sort of internal barometer, you know. I personally can’t take 32-foot size metal robots all that seriously. (Laughs) On the other hand, I take what they represent very seriously. So it’s that sort of balance where you say to yourself ‘you know what, let’s not pretend we’re making War and Peace.’ We’re not. But people feel really passionate about what these Autobots and Decepticons stand for and there’s a very rich mythology so there’s a real demand to deliver that. So for the non-fan of it, we had to have enough fun with it so that they would be entertained and for the fan, we had to take it very seriously what we were executing around the Autobots and the Decepticons".

They out and out admit that they are not taking this movie seriously. Why work on the material then if you don't respect it?

What? I've done nothing worthy of a ban, unless speaking my mind is against the rules. Read my post. What did I do wrong? Prove that that Bay&Co don't give a rat's ass about Transformers or how much they disgrace it as long as they make a quick buck?

That aside you dont have to particularly like a project in order to do good work on it. I dont particulaly like every aspect of my job, but I still do what it takes to put out a good product and that what the makers are doing.
They even said in the interview that for the fans they took it seriously while still making it a popcorn movie for the general public.

All you've done here is whine and argue for the sake of arguing. It's pretty pathetic.

Wow. Forgot that people weren't allowed to have an opinion on these boards...wait, yeah they are.
Usually people that are producers are the ones that love the material and bring it from the ground up. Like Don Murphy.

Having an opinion is fine and dandy and I have nothing against that, but it's pointless to whine at every opportunity that you have about something that you really have only seen very little of the overall picture.

That is what happened to me. I was extremely hopeful until I saw the trailer. I then became only hopeful despite the monster alien depiction of the Transformers. I hoped for change. I then found this site and became neutral. After the trailer, I lost all hope. I have been out of school with a stomach ulcer since September and I felt lonely. I then joined to interact with people who thought the same and to enjoy conversations with other people. By the time I joined, people I wanted to meet who I shared opinions with were mostly ran off. AK has recently left and I'm left with a depression knowing the conflict of opinion has made the fandom a war zone which I believe has worsened my physical and mental health. This, I believe, is a dark time of Civil War.

Now lets turn the drama down. The problem is not that people like or dislike the movie it is the constant personal assults that have become quit frequent. This does not include everyone. There is no Civil War only people who need to learn how to voice opinions without flaming each other.

Word of advice.
If you want people to respect your opinions, then stop saying the same thing over and over again.
Yes, you don't like what you've seen of this movie. We get that. But the reason you get so much crap is because you say the same thing every damn time.
So if you want your opinion respected, then start saying something other than "this movie sucks" "Bay sucks" etc etc. We've heard it all before and it's gotten repeatative and annoying.

Bluebullet, consider this a formal warning.
You're free to express your opinions and such, but you're also required to be tactful and be polite to others. If you want respect, dish it out first and formost, and thou shall recieve.

Lip service. What, apart from the 2 warring factions coming from Cybertron, have they retained from the "rich mythology"? How they arrive on earth, what they're searching for on Earth, etc... gone since the early drafts. I get that they can't be expected to cater to the "fanboys" but why pretend?
