Actually, making a show that takes place years after the end of g1 with all-new characters would not be a bad idea. Maybe even add in some IDW characters. Maybe even have a new prime like Sentinel. Maybe it can be the events of a colony of Cybertronians on the other side of the universe? I would actually love that. Do something old and new at the same time. Kinda like RiD 2015, but better.

Yes. Yes. We all can agree on that.

Only if one focuses entirely on the skeeviness in Kiss Players, yeah. But if you take all that stuff out, there's honestly some really cool stuff in both of Kiss Players' two storylines.

Yes Yes... I am not totally beyond reason .. Well...there was Animorphs...but NO...Kiss Players was definitely worse...yeah gonna stick with that.

Kiss Players is not only weird in a rational "how the heck would that work" kinda sense, but it's also just wrong. Why the heck would they have panty shots on toy packaging that they expect parents to buy? Something I'd rather not dwell on for too long.

I agree with that statement, there were some interesting ideas. I'd like to see a reimagining that removes all the questionable stuff.

Back to what I was saying before: I really think it would be awesome to get some sort of G1 continuity cartoon with all-new characters. If it just takes place after the events of g1, it draws me way more than a lot of IDW stuff. IDW for the most part uses g1 characters but deviates from the original story-line, and prefers to make their own rules. What about the opposite for a cartoon? In fact, I wouldn't be opposed to a Transformers Animated sort of style with; like I said; all new characters, and in a different part of the universe. Do something like Beast Wars with maybe a new incarnation of an old character showing up here and there.

I really would love to get something like that in the same universe as G1, but not continuing the story of those specific characters. Do something like DC comics which tries to intwine things as much as possible. Heck, they could even do a thing like DC did with revealing that there are three jokers, and have different versions of characters, but taking on the same names. (Beast Wars Megatron is a good example.) Having it all intertwine and build its own lore is something I'd love to have, and really gets my theorist heart pumping. They could even have characters such as Windblade, Drift, Nautica, and other non-original g1 characters tie into g1, but explain it at them being in another part of the universe, or in another time era.

I kinda like Starscream turning into some crazy cosmic weirdo. I don't quite get it all, but a giant robot with clear/starfield "skin" which you can see he's made up of ~30 differnt robots is a neat visual.
Dunno about that second form, though. It seems like he's literally a star now, with the component bots floating around sorta like planets... although they kinda just vanish, and instead he sprouts invisible cluster missiles? (they sorta just look like random dots...)

Starscream's rather flat head on top of the star blob made me think: he's the only major Decepticon without at least a rumored Headmaster, isn't he?

And here I was thinking "Warworld", but the pun-ishment makes too much sense.

Actually, I spent the week since the last ep repeating, "Underbase, not Megascream, pleeeeease...", and while the line "I...KNOW everything" was surely an Underbase homage, I'm still not sure what to feel at the end of this mess.

All this talk of the Energon cartoon a few posts back, but when the black hole opened up, was I the only one thinking, HOLY SLAG! THE UNICRON SINGULARITY IS BACK! That means the Cybertron cartoon will somehow magically have continuity with this series too!

I just caught up on the last 3 episodes... thinking that maybe it would get better. It did not. What's the opposite of character development? (Because that is what this monstrosity manages.) Character scouring? Character flattening?

Also, I thought that this cartoon thing was supposed to be part of some shared continuity masterplan between film, animation, and comic books. Instead, it is a g1 feverdream.

Other terms for the opposite of chaaracter development are "character degradation" and "character regression'.
