I was initially underwhelmed and not sure looking at the silhouettes, but this has jumped on to my 'Must Have' list. I'm very happy they took the opportunity to add a new blaster for his left arm. The tracks/wings are a bit wide but I get why that is. Looking at the connecting edges of it I'm wondering if some additional track will be made available to complete a circuit. The launch pad looks pretty comprehensive but very cool, if a little kibble-tastic in robot mode. The lighting feature looks badass. Now I'm just wondering what the significance of the cage at the top of the claw arm is.

I really do love nearly everything about this upgrade. My problem is shelf space. I use Ikea shelves and I had to move literally my entire Classics collection on every shelf to make room for YOTS Omega as it is and this is going to make it even bigger! Still, I already know I'm going to have to get another shelving unit for Metroplex so it's not a deal breaker. I don't mind the ship arm as I've had the Energon Omega Sentinel since it came out so I'm used to it but it is a nice piece. It'll really come down to cost for me. I love my Omega even without all of that!

kidding. I agree. This kit does seem to improve the toy, in terms of Geewunnity, but there's still a lot of the original toy there that doesn't work right for me. Maybe if it hadn't been a Year Of The Thingy exclusive, I'd have picked it up and consider paying for the upgrade, but an already too expensive base toy, plus what's likely to be a substantial price point on the add-on make it none too appealing.

If you didn't like the $150 price tag you assumed this would be, I highly doubt you would like the price of a whole new Omega figure; just ask Planet X.
