X, I like you and all, but if you're going to come into a thread with the sole purpose of killing a joke, then you should have the testicular fortitude to take it on the chin when people kill yours.

Im not mad. Just shocked I had to take a pic of a 20 year old calculator to explain the logic of a joke to a bunch of guys in their mid 30s.... :BANG_HEAD:

Granted I havent been keeping up with current portable flashlight technology, kudos to those who follow it religiously. ;)

Follow it religiously? You know just because we don't live under a rock doesn't mean we follow everyday technology"religiously" I've had one for years, my granddad gave it to me to save on batteries. Congratulations, you're even more behind on everyday technology than a man who lived through WW2 and thinks cellphones are a passing fad.

This may shock you, but these days we even have solar powered chargers for cellphones and laptops.

Oh and we even have tiny plastic cards that store as much information as a million floppy disks, we call them SD Cards.

:-B No, You clearly mentioned a solar powered flash light as a example in your joke.

Their is no such thing as a solar powered flash light. That doesn't absorb and store solar energy for later use.

The solar powered flashlight joke is decades old and is based on the solar cell concept that drives the calculators only under bright light. Its not my fault if a bunch of guys are so obsessed with science and technology that they cant grasp good old fashioned humor. :-B

Oh no, I got the joke, it just wasn't a very good joke you see.
A better joke based on untrue stereo types is for instance this:

How many Germans does it take to screw in a light bulb?
One, because we're efficient and don't have a sense of humor.

I would have guessed 1000. One to hold the lightbulb steady while the other 999 rotate the house. ;)

Now that's just silly, that's not how houses or physics work.

Not just during the night, but also the day. The heat can be used during the day, while it's simultaneously being saved for the night. That way you have warm water all day and night long! :D

The spin the house answer is another old joke. It usually is meant to take a stab at any nationality. As you csn see I didn't include one so things wouldn't become personal.

Aside from heating cold water, I cant think of any reason you would need heat during the day when the bright sun is shining outside. Kinda like the flashlight I was referring to in the original joke. Keep in mind I live in Miami not the north pole.

I included German because it's hilarious and brings the point across, I don't really think it's offensive or hurtful.

You see, Miami isn't the entire world. There are other places that have different seasons, and it's still going to be cold during the day even if the sun is out, especially in winter.
Just because it's useless to you because of where you live, doesn't mean it's stupid. I mean to someone who lives in Greenland sunscreen is incredibly useless, but it's still something fantastic for someone who lives somewhere where it's needed.

I was under the impression you live in Germany. I didn't want to break out the "Master Race" jokes because someone might find it offensive. I never said Miami is the capital of the world. I'm aware there are different climates across the world. But with that being said there are also different styles of humor around the world. Obviously, I'm not a big fan of Chinese dry humor. So I threw in some Southern wet humor. I don't feel embarrassed for not knowing the butt of an old joke actually exists today. I just know better now. Many highly educated, analytical Transformers collectors have an extremely different view about what is funny to them. if they want to play make believe that they are getting a tree sized Unicron, then so be it. Ive used the flashlight joke countless times over the years and got well received ovation of laughs. its not my fault they didn't get it.

I do live in Germany, and like most Germans I love self-deprecation jokes, just the Nazi jokes get a bit old, especially coming from others.

Again, we all got the joke, we just pointed out that it's not funny, because the punch-line of the joke is now stating a fact. It's like trying to make fun of Star Trek for having a portable computer and laughing at how stupid those people need to be to think that a computer will ever be small enough to be held in one hand. Sure, it might have been funny back then, but today we have computers that are smaller than the Star Trek ones, and also more powerful and versatile.

Solar powered flashlights have been around for a good while, and they work. Solar powered heating too, heck that's even a super old concept.

You asked why anyone would need heating during the day when the sun is out, I told you why. Miami might be hot all year round, but other places that's not the case. The sun shines during winter as well, it's cold, but the sunshine is strong enough to power solar panels for electricity or solar heating boxes, which are basically just black tanks filled with water that heat up the water in them so it can be used for heating or warm tap water for showers etc, it's the cheapest and best way of regulating the temperature of an inside swimming pool.

It's even a super easy DIY project to do, all your need for a simple homemade solution are a bunch of water tanks, piping, and maybe a pump, and of course black paint to cover the tanks and the piping in, if they're not black already.

You see, mocking silly fantasy concepts is only funny, if they really are silly fantasy concepts that don't exist and work.

And the joke with this Unicron here, is the fact that people keep wanting in-scale versions of impossibly big characters, like Fort Max etc, MT made fun of that by posting a teaser of an in-scale Unicron. Which is so big nobody could afford it, or even display it.

It's essentially the kind of joke you tried to pull of with the solar powered flash light, only tailor made for TF collectors, and actually still silly unlike the joke about something that exists.

And great, the joke seems to still work with people who live under rocks, so it's still funny, in the right company. I mean for a long time people thought that it was comedy gold when someone got a pie in the face.

This whole thread started off as one big joke anyways. Maketoys should send me a check for keeping it alive this long. Were on page 3 and nobody’s talked about Unicron since page 1. They would rather dissect an old joke because it doesn’t conform with modern science. :BANG_HEAD:

So April Fool’s !!!

This is not really a Unicron thread! It’s a thread to show how anal Transformer collectors can be because they are utterly divided by cultural, educational, and demographic diversity. :-B 8) 8-} :MR-T: :o) ;)^
