I think that figure is molded uniquely enough to be able to sell at retail without any infringement claims, so I wonder why MT isn't willing to offer it to the etailers? Perhaps they don't think the character is popular enough to sell in high enough volume to be worth it? Maybe if it does well on their site they will do another production run and offer it to etailers?

yep, despite clearly being heavily influenced by RTS Laser Prime, the smaller bot looks to be an entirely different mold. Looks really quite good.

Not too sure about the head, though. I would've liked to see a mask-type addition for the powered-up mode. :-?

Dammit! I like this quite a bit. Not sure how I'd like it compared to other potential 3rd party Novas, but I thing it's good enough in its own right. I just hope they stick around long enough for me to get some dosh together.

Perhaps my only complaint is that the wings do look more like a backpack than integrated wings.

Good to see that it can stand up unaided. There's a fair amount of kibble on the back, with the wheel stuff.

I'm not sure, it looks very pretty, but also not sure I'm willing to buy it right now.
Is there any news on the one being reproduced by TJ Duckett and others?

The kickstarter project? I'm not sure they've reached their goal, haven't heard any new updates. and MMC's is at least a year out with expected delays, this is probably the only Nova Prime in the market for a while.

True, but selling the thing through their proprietary store is going to hurt them. There very probably will still be a market for a Nova Prime when MMC's version hits the usual e-retailers.
