The city mode DOES look badass. I love it. But unfortunately, it's the only think I love about this project, and hitting 1 out of 3 for me isn't worth my $400...

If Hasbro released this toy for around $100, I would buy it.
Think You've got to really love the original media character and 1987 toy to fork over $400+ for a 3rd party toy version. Quite frankly I don't.

xyl360 wrote:Yeah, I was talking to my buddy on Skype about this figure earlier and he suggested it might look good on my WfC/FoC shelf next to my PlanetX not-Omega Supreme and I think he's right. To me this is a better fit for a sort of Cybertronian Scorponok or something like that. Very big, very stylized, very manga. I dig it, but it's probably not a good fit as a 'Classics' Scorponok because the design is kinda out there.

The 3rd party prices are starting to be ridiculous...if you can get a Tomy Metroplex Titan class for less than this........makes you want to start thinking if it (Pandinus) is worth the pain and effort.

Not at all dude! Plenty of people are doing that, and I must admit at least some of those figures (particularly Grimlock, considering how he's still a metal T-Rex and all) fit in quite nicelymegatronus wrote:xyl360 wrote:Yeah, I was talking to my buddy on Skype about this figure earlier and he suggested it might look good on my WfC/FoC shelf next to my PlanetX not-Omega Supreme and I think he's right. That's exactly where I would put it, too. Unfortunately, I don't have a WFC/FOC shelf - those figures are intermingled with my Classics guys (and soon, gals). Blasphemy, I know.![]()

Given the insane popularity of Botcon Scorponok this year, it's hard to imagine HasTak NOT doing one of their own in the next 2-3 years. I'm definitely making that gamble.
Also, given the (presumed) success of Titan Metroplex, I can't imagine a Trypticon is not in the pipeline. Like Metroplex, it will probably take a couple years to tool the thing, but I think we'll get him eventually.

Fans balked at paying $500+ for a non-transforming figure, regardless of its size. I don't think it's been seen since.
