I agree. I dislike it too. I'd much rather they work on Defensor or some other un-covered figures.

Ha ha... To be fair, one minor drawback to the large size is that, for where I display my Metroplex, city mode is all but impossible unless I take him down and play with him on the floor!![]()
I had thought that for everyday display, he'd be limited to robot mode. Fortunately, I discovered that the space I had for him would actually accommodate his battle station mode, as well. And as an added bonus, that allows me to use his flight deck as a platform for other figures to give those in the back rows more visibility rather then have them mostly hidden by those in front of them!

Not the strongest mode for this guy, but I like the tower look of the arms and the back parts with the blue windows. Carrier mode is my favorite.
