So yeah, MP-12+ Lambor (Sideswipe). I like how this line has only consisted of two characters using the same mold so far.
And it seems these guys only come out as a companion piece to upcoming MPs? Red Alert for Inferno, Sideswipe for Sunstreaker. Almost surprised we didn't get an MP+ Soundwave for Megatron.

Lamborghini apparently isn't as restrictive as we all thought :-D

It would've been nice, instead of the Hasbro reissue. Still waiting for that MP10+..with cell shading!!

Are we gonna get a new head?! Now that Lambor is one of my favorite MPs again, I wouldn't be opposed to replacing him with the 12+.

Isn't Sideswipe's head already animation-accurate? I don't have the figure so I can't say for sure - nor have I really looked at any screenshots of the cartoon in a while - but I thought it was cartoon-accurate.

Of course, if he had a cell shaded deco, I would undertand, bu they arent doing that with this line.

The one who would work best for this + line is wheeljack since the MP's colours in robot mode are not anme accurate (not taht I care in the slightest, that toy is amazing)

Now that I look at it, Sunstreaker companionship aside I have no idea at all why they're doing this. The colours seem spot on and it's not even like they want to paint over the details to match the current MP line direction, as all the details are themselves cartoon accurate!

A very nice even coat of red paint would make him perfect. Mine has no less than three shades.

I view the MP-12+ the same way I did the MP-14+

If you have the original release, it's probably not worth buying the new one.
If you don't have Sideswipe yet, it's another option to consider.
I really can't see buying both unless he is one of your favorite characters or if you are a Masterpiece completionist.

I suspect that they will replace his blacks with dark greys. Silver face will be light grey. The car's black stripes ditched. Arms and feet painted with a light bluish-grey. And the cartoon Autobot insignia of course.

Well, MP-39 Sunstreaker has clear headlights so I guess they'd want to match that. Never liked how they painted over the real-car details of MP-14+ anyway.

If that's the new Sideswipe, it looks like the gun is recolored and the formerly silver parts are now white.

The tires are gray, the black triangle on his outer shin is now red, the red piece above his foot is now black and I can't entirely tell but the silver part seem to now be mold in flat colours and the Autobot symbol from this angle looks slightly different. This could very well be MP-12+.

Courtesy of fellow Seibertronian Bumblebee21, we have from Robot Kingdom's website a picture of the second figure in the animation-accurate MP+ line, Lambor - AKA Sideswipe! Straight from the Tokyo Toy Show, this redeco of the original Lamborghini Masterpiece shows very few differences; but rest assured they are there. If you want even more angles, turns out the Masterpiece Sideswipe from the MP-39 Sunstreaker picture is in fact MP-12+! So take a gander at both pictures and tell us what you think in the Energon Pub!

Gotta get the most out of the molds.

I suppose all these individual threads for Masterpiece figures are the expectation, but I am afraid of "content bleed", where the same stuff gets regurgitated over a series of threads now that we have a general discussion thread.

I guess I will have to work harder to have something worth saying.

It looks like this version of Sideswipe comes with three different piledrivers. If they would've included a Jetpack I might have double dipped.

I'll wait and get it off Mandarake sometime. A lot of MP cars go for cheap on there, for example MP14+ Alert is only 6,500 JPY.

Insignia looks the same. Maybe larger.

This appears to use the face-sculpt from the Asian reissue. And maybe it's just the pic but it looks better in white? Less reflections on it.

They painted over the Lamborghini logos, seems unnecessary.

The ball joints are partly white to blend with the thighs.

The wheels are grey because in robot mode they turn light grey. And the rest was mentioned already.

Overall this doesn't look much different, if you don't have an MP-12 yet treat this as a kind of reissue.
