I love her to the moon and back, but I need to better educate her on my robbit buying habits. She thought I canceled the pre order just because of the price. Damn it all.....

Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'
Sabrblade wrote:Okay, guys, fellow user Powered Convoy has (elsewhere) brought to light some good news that should alleviate some fears about these reported breakage issues with MP-36's gun barrel:So we not only have to just be careful with the figure but also USE THE INSTRUCTIONS! This is not, repeat, NOT a TF toy whose transformation is to be trifled with. I understand the want to figure out the transformation without help, but for something like this, let's all make an exception and give due respect to MP-36's instructions, lest we all suffer a similar barrel breakage.Powered Convoy wrote:Based on what I read, the two (yes there was another) people who have broken the gun barrel have done so by accidentally sticking the silencer on the wrong way. And then broke it trying to get it off.
Additionally, to further avoid any breakage of the barrel via the silencer, this TFW user has provided us with a rather in-depth photo guide for disassembling and sanding down the silencer so as to also prevent paint damage as well.

Very good to hear. But ugh... That's one reason I don't do high-end collectibles. I don't trust myself with them...

Kinda weird that on the 3rd party threads, you praise the 1st party and vice versa in the official threads. A little consistency puhleeze!
im giving an example on a figure that has more moving parts than mp-36. im not talking directly about him saying x can do this or x can do that, it was just a comparison.
i only praise the 1st party if theyve done it right. this hasnt been done right.
Naw. I've seen that pattern before. Criticize for the sake o' doing so. Whatever satisfies you kicks X.
He is making a comparison. He believes Bee21 is Rated X reincarnated

I'd say there's been many pretenders, but honestly, I've only had to ban someone once since you vanished.
Surely though you must have something to say about MP-36?

Doom Saber wrote:Just an observation on my part, but other than the QC issues with Megatron, why is the hate is so apparent? If one is hating it just to justify the decision of buying the third party version, there is no need as we are in a situation where there are a couple of MP Megatron toys to choose from. Some people are happy with the bulky look. I am not since I grew up with the cartoon G1 Megatron and the unofficial ones tend to have the proportions more like the comics. However, there are people who prefers the bulkier Megatron over the skinnier MP-36 Megatron, and that is fine since liking one thing doesn't make you wrong.
As others have said, the figure is too new to see if the QC problems are wide spread. Even if it is, we have had third party figures break on us before. This isn't just a Hasbro or Takara Tomy problem. It is the nature of expensive toys as they are made up of small and delicate parts. It sounds a bit odd that the more money we spend on a figure, the more fragile it is. However, it is true as someone who also buys 1/6 figures, some pieces can be very fragile when handling because of the small scale. It saddening that people are reporting breaking issues.

Wot.
Eesh, still, all those moving parts. Heavy tolerances. Maybe the die cast should have gone to some hinges rather than the feet

I'm an immortal, didn't Burn tell you?
Against all my instincts, I now find myself intensely curious about this figure. I don't see me selling Despotron, as I love him so much, but I won't sell a gift, either, even if I get the little lady's okay. I guess I'll put truth to rumor in a few days.
