Oh lordy, somehow that's a lot harder to look at than any case of GPS or modern toy breakage; and these aren't even figures I've ever played with! I think it's the extra rust and dirt on them, gives them an extra nightmarish feel. Like I'm staring at a field of Cybertronian corpses.

They did take a while to get to that point though, whereas Megs is out of the box so g1transformers point does have some merit.

Aside from the butt screws, do we have a list of other possible suggestions for fixes before I transform Megatron? I'm thinking I might have to keep my second one ... one to have in robot mode and one to have in gun mode, just like I did with MP-5 after hearing about issues with him being fragile and realizing what a pain he was to transform.

Okay, guys, fellow user Powered Convoy has (elsewhere) brought to light some good news that should alleviate some fears about these reported breakage issues with MP-36's gun barrel:

Based on what I read, the two (yes there was another) people who have broken the gun barrel have done so by accidentally sticking the silencer on the wrong way. And then broke it trying to get it off.

So we not only have to just be careful with the figure but also USE THE INSTRUCTIONS! This is not, repeat, NOT a TF toy whose transformation is to be trifled with. I understand the want to figure out the transformation without help, but for something like this, let's all make an exception and give due respect to MP-36's instructions, lest we all suffer a similar barrel breakage.

Additionally, to further avoid any breakage of the barrel via the silencer, this TFW user has provided us with a rather in-depth photo guide for disassembling and sanding down the silencer so as to also prevent paint damage as well.

Doesnt matter. If you meant only some MPs shouldnt be transformed, you should have done so instead of writing in absolutes like below:

My Megatron is on its way, so I have no idea whether there will be QC issues with it or not. My biggest concern is whether or not Takara will fix/replace these figs. Doubt the vendor will considering this happens during transformation. Anyone contacted Takara yet? I'm currently working in my brain how repairs can be made should this happen to my fig. Perhaps those more talented than I can begin creating 3d printed replacement parts a-la Shapeways. I only paid $167 USD for mine (with shipping), but I still feel it is WAY overpriced considering the QC issues. $230 is friggin highway robbery.

They only/possibly will replace domestic customers (Takara). In my case, Amiami replaced a defective part of my MP Beast Convoy because I was awesomely polite to them. I did NOT demand an immediate refund but wrote to them nicely!

The damaged came right out of the box. But if the damages was due to our "heavy handed" manipulation, I highly doubt them to replace the fig.

The risks of buying foreign/overseas etc.

Well, I think I'm going to do some preemptive adjustments such as sanding the barrel extension , follow instructions to the letter, and watch a few vids. I'll just assume I'll get no customer service.

So I mean, one of the things I really like about this website and pride itself on compared to similar websites is that we can have differing opinions without having to make big arguments over them and accuse people of ridiculous things just for having them.
Can we go back to that? I liked that. I think the discussion in general would be a lot better for that. Considering there's been three significant third party MP Megatrons (that I know of at least, were there any more than three?) that were all praised and jabbed at for differing reasons by different people with different tastes, I feel a comparison to any of them is rather apt especially when QC issues like this start showing up.

That said - and since it was a point brought up earlier and it was something I found rather interesting - exactly how widespread are these issues? Are they the same issues? How many have been reporting them all in all?

Dont worry about him. If you have an issue you have 2 things you can do with no need to confront the user.

1. Report his post, its the exclamation mark button. A mod will take care of it. I already reported that post.
2. Go to your admin panel and look for the managing Friends and Foes panel. If you add him (or anyone else) to your list of foes, you will no longer see his comments on the boards. Its like when you block someone on facebook. I did it myself just now. We come here to talk about our hobby, what brings us joy in life. If someone like Fenrir72 routinely upsets you, feel free to ignore them. You will be able to enjoy these forums without the people you dont want to see.

Just got an email from Transformerland letting me know my products ready to ship. They offered to inspect the figure for me before they ship it out, which does help alleviate some of my fears. I'm definitely going to leave him in robot mode (which I had planned to do anyways)

If I could add my two cents, I've transformed Megatron back and forth once. There were a few scarry moments but now I know what to expect. Take your time and be gentle, transformers are meant to be transformed but Masterpiece figures might need a little extra care.
