I'm really trying to get excited for this figure, but I'm still just not feeling it. Of course, my excitement is building for the very soon release of MP Primal.

MP-36 Megatron looks great from the front and sides (though his foot seems a little small from the side, like the heel is missing or something), but that upper back area is a disaster, as is upper shoulders/torso area. Also not a fan of the crotch area with the robo vagina. Other than that, MP-36 Megatron looks awesome!

I agree with the commentaries about the legs, which look much better!! A little messy when looking at the back maybe... But since this is still a prototype, it's hard to judge fairly.
Count me in anyway!!

Just to let you know, this isnt a prototype. Its the final finished figure. There might be a slight change in paint apps but not more than that and nothing drastic. For all intents and purposes, this is the finished model to show fans what to expect when they preorder it.

Also, people who dislike smooth panels should be happy with this figure.
So glad this is coming, his placeholder was starting to annoy me.

That would be me, I am not a fan of smooth panels (aside from the Animated line) and indeed i love the look of this toy. Well, I mean I am not a fan of smooth panels in robot mode, I do like smooth panels in alt mode and its a bit too bad that he doesnt have them oh well.

But please tell me more about what annoys you with that Leader Megatron palceholder. I am writing a new article and I am all ears

Very easy, every single gun megatron toy was readily available at BBTS and TFSource. As far as online retailers go, this is no different than any other MP so if you roderd an MP before, its as easy as that.
Well, as long as he doesnt sponsor Malboro cigarettes (not a joke).

Meg's legs remind me of recent MP Shockwave's.

If you can get him for a good price, I recomend him. His legs are my favourite part of the transformation.

The robot vagina is my biggest beef with this figure. I am ok with the back as I have seen worse and it wont really be seen. But that vagina is front and center and it just throws me off so much compared to the rest of the figure which is all accurate to the show. the fact that thse lines are jagged makes it worse since it just draws your eyes to them and makes them look like a design instead of just standard panel lines.

I'm impressed by all the extras and that the gun stock becomes a flight stand! Very clever! Love the Fusion Cannon. It's also very clever, extending out for the gun mode. And I LOVE the battle damaged chest and face.

Over in the FansToys Sovereign thread, skywarp-2 mentioned it from one of the Season 2 episodes. Apollyon had something similar, but the animation had a full chestplate opening sorta like Optimus and the Matrix of Leadership, and this episode was PRE-TFTM!

If MP Starscream were made today Takara would have probably used some "ladder magic" on the nosecone. And handled the stabilisers better.

I thought so! And yes, Apollyon does but it's the left side of the chest tiny flip out panel. Which isn't as awesome as the one for CW/TL or the potential for the new Masterpiece one!!
