I meant the CHUG Prime on my shelf. LG13 dwarfs it.

As I've continued looking and soaking it all in, the torso proportions don't bother me anymore.
I will say the top of the torso looking so puzzle-like, while not a deal-breaker, is going to be quite noticeable all of the time unless you have this figure displayed on a shelf above eye-level.

I would think the price tag will be < $200, hopefully around $180.
This is more motivation for me to resist buying TR figures that I'm kinda "mehhh" about.

As far as moving towards a more cartoon-looking aesthetic with the MP line,
I wouldn't doubt if it's simply a matter of $$$$. Less details have to mean lower cost.
And while you wouldn't assume it would be that much more, it just mirrors almost every other product.
Not to mention, there's no way to get re-uses out of MP molds as there is in basic lines like CW.
But also, I'd argue that deciding what subtle details make a character the "ultimate version" would be pretty difficult, even for a more than capable design team. Whether you like it or not, basing these figures on the show designs isn't 100% wrong.

If I have to pay more to cover their import fees, I'm okay with that. I'd rather let them deal with customs than having to do it myself.

I really do love my Apollyon figure, and even the original MP-5 still isn't that bad to me. This looks incredible, but you know what I really want out of it? All I want, even? I want a MP Megatron with a transformation process that doesn't take half an hour. Here's hoping!

Final confirmation once released. Though if using the original MP-05 as reference, most likely it is one of those metal types used on trinkets.

I hear that. When dealing with a figure such as Megatron, however, I don't think it's possible. The art of getting a good robot out of a good looking handgun is just to much of a process. I can tell you just by looking at the top of his chest, his sides, and his back that this guy will be just as complicated to transform.

For me, though, I like that. :-D

I'll just transform my Apollyon to gun mode. It's likely Megatron will come in robot mode, which means he'll go straight on the shelf with the rest of the Decepticons.

Now, both he and MP-10 are likely to come off the shelf more often as my 4 year old son can now learn to appreciate the glory of Megatron.

I wouldn't mind just a few minutes back and forth. I enjoy complex transformations that you don't have to do in a specific order really, kinda just wing it and see which way works the best. AND minimal parts popping off. That's what I want.

Also, Ironhidensh, I prefer my MPs to be the ultimate version of the character too. I think you may have mentioned that. ;)^

I see a lot of crevasses on this guy. I just hope it doesn't take a half hour to transform and not as fragile as the original mp one. Other than that, it looks very good. Hope the price is under $150.

I agree this figure just looks outstanding and being a masterpiece junky I am all aboard. The birds eye view is troubling though, but at the same time the Masterpiece designs have been really solid so I am sure it'll be fine. Considering the importance of this figure they would not introduce a product that is not rock solid.

Too many gaps and moving pieces. Its nowhere near as clean as I expect for MP level price tag. It looks great if you are looking head on, but any other view (to me) is very cringe worthy. Meh.
I hear ya about the amount of pieces, but I actually have a great deal of faith in these new MP's. After handling the new MP Hotrod with his locking tabs, I bet TT is putting a lot of extra care into making this Megatron a solid figure. The transformation looks daunting, but that's the only thing that worries me.

As for how the torso looks, I don't see any issue. I am actually really loving all the clear colored pieces he has for all his stomach doo-dads. Looks beautiful. The top view of the torso is puzzly, but so long as its solid I ain't worried ;)

This, this is SOC level detail. Unless there's some horrible design flaw that completely ruins the figure this is going to be good.
