No need for luck, I am sure all the standard importers like BBTS and TFsource will have it. I mean, they have all the 3p gun megatrons. US regulations never stopped those. So you will have 0 problem obtaining one if you live in the US.

Wow, Takara!

Thats a great pic, Takara destroys everyone with the legs, which I always feel is the hardest part for companies to pull off (you'd think its easy but I guess not). However, when it comes to the back, I did not realize how perfect Appolyon was. He isnt fun to Transform but bot does he look awesome from every angle and he's the only one too. Looks like the most solid of them all.

But takara wins in terms of looks, I just hope its a pleasant transformation.

Bumblebee21 wrote:is this the first masterpiece thats been leaked before the official reveal.

whats the estimated price for him, maybe $160.

You mean on US websites right? Yeah I think something like 160 or 170 would make sense, pretty much the same as Shockwave. Although if your reason is only for security, your figure is fully insured if you pay using paypal, and HLJ has excellent customer service too.

But I stick with nippon yassan and anime export simply because they always offer the figure at the cheapest price (since you pay upfront).

Oh I have a question too, whats up with the designs on his crotch? The cartoon model didnct have those zig zags so what are they doing there?

In all seriousness, Matt and the Transformer Land team have been awesome. I've had at least one order per month with them over the last year and I couldn't be more happy. He's getting my pre-order once they go up!

you better hope they have enough for both of us.
Oh they will. 90% of my MPs in the last 18 months have been through them and probably half of my Transformer related purchases this year!

Jokes aside, none of us need Hasbro to sell it. We have seen time and time again that its no different than the cost to import it ourselves. Starscream was worthwhile but it was so poorly stocked few people found the hunt worthwhile.

Right, but there's some sort of laws regarding toy guns, right? That'd make importing MP-36 harder than your usual MP?

The law doesnt apply to imported toys, just toys sold in toy stores. No one had any problem buying any of the 3p megatrons.
Except for Australians, I dont know how their purchase of 3p megatrons went.

But wasnt MP 10 the same price as Shockwave and Soudnwave? Wait, let me check...

Yeah, the difference between MP 10 and Shockwave was only 30$ and it was due to the trailer. So I highly doubt he will be 180$ at importers.

Whenever Takara comes up with an official release the flaws of the unlicensed versions become more apparent to me. Not that I don't appreciate the talent behind the 3P figures. And yeah, I hope he's good in-hand.

btw, someone made a custom head for Apollyon (for personal use I think) -- and it's such a huge improvement.

Glad that my MP Megatron placeholder was fairly inexpensive.. compared to those 3P ones.

Thanks Cyberpath. Also, looking at those images I think its fair to assume that Maketoys' Depositron was never in the race for best looking Megs right? That think has atrocious proportions. Appolyon looks second best, he adds some beef without being far from the standard megatron look.

I agree with what you're saying about the flaws. And I also agree that generally the torso of Apollyon is pretty dang nice to look at. I also had CW leader Megaton as a stand in, and he did work well until Apollyon arrived. He still stands in every once in a while

That custom face is amazing BTW

If you're looking for a purpose for the Legends toy now that this new MP exists, Takara's got you covered with their Legends manga depicting Megatron's new Legends tank body as a new post-G2 form for him. ;)^

Starting to wonder what mold re-uses he'll have since Masterpiece seems to find a thousand uses for every figure they bring out. Marvel/SG keeps sticking out to me as the most likely due to there being so few other options; maybe Megaplex? Gold version?

Don't :TAKARATOMY: release Masterpeace in Australia?

Toys 'R Us Australia do carry TT Masterpieces, but given the varying laws across the country in regards to replica firearms, they opt to not carry him.

It varies from State to State to Territory. Fortunately the State I, and Premium Collectable live/trade in isn't as strict. So PC may be the best option for most Australians rather than trying to import him themselves.

Griffin of OzFormers has put together a handy resource detailing the different laws around Australia and how it affects replica firearm Transformers.

WJ - I'm leaning toward going with one of the Japanese stores for this. Do any of them have a pile of loot feature? Thinking of tacking on a few other MP'S (Grapple).
