Heh, it's funny cuz practically ever single release of the original G1 Megatron figure had something different about it. Going by all of those versions, ideas for redeco ideas for this figure are hardly in short supply.Kurona wrote:Starting to wonder what mold re-uses he'll have since Masterpiece seems to find a thousand uses for every figure they bring out. Marvel/SG keeps sticking out to me as the most likely due to there being so few other options; maybe Megaplex? Gold version?

Is it so much a problem when the fiction depicts him as having really become that big in that new body?Cyberpath wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If you're looking for a purpose for the Legends toy now that this new MP exists, Takara's got you covered with their Legends manga depicting Megatron's new Legends tank body as a new post-G2 form for him.
Problem is that he's Skyfire's size and towers over everyone.![]()

Well, he likes the G1 cartoon enough to apply to its scale. The Legends manga are in continuity with the cartoon (at least, the parts that take place in the cartoon's continuity are), and Megatron's new body in the comics showed him to have gotten huge after his then-latest body upgrade from his many cartoon continuity bodies (G1 Megatron body --> G1 Galvatron body --> Super Megatron body --> Ultra Megatron body --> Action Master Cybertron Alliance body --> G-2 purple tank body --> back to his original G1 Megatron body --> huge-sized Legends Megatron body, and then later his Legends Headmaster Galvatron body).Kurona wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Is it so much a problem when the fiction depicts him as having really become that big in that new body?Cyberpath wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If you're looking for a purpose for the Legends toy now that this new MP exists, Takara's got you covered with their Legends manga depicting Megatron's new Legends tank body as a new post-G2 form for him.

Only if you like the fiction so much that you want to buy the toys to have a display for them.
The fiction in this case being... Transformers Legends, slightly humorous pack-in comics for the toys they come with.
Hm.

Those look to me to be hinged skirt plates so his hip/thigh can bend all the way up. The same way Shockwave, Hot Rod, or even Ironhide have hinged skirts.william-james88 wrote:Oh I have a question too, whats up with the designs on his crotch? The cartoon model didnt have those zig zags so what are they doing there?

Man, the more I look at this the more I'm saddened by the idea that I may have to hold off. I'd really prefer a more toy accurate version with more red. Like on the inside of his arms and calves. The contrast of the silver and the red is such a defining look for Megatron for me. And ya, the cartoon insignias are not doing it for me.
It might surprise you to hear this, but I'm right there with you Cobs. I've always loved the extra bits of red on the arms and legs. And I honestly didn't notice the flat grey until it was mentioned. I would gladly welcome a MP36XCobotron wrote:I'd really prefer a more toy accurate version with more red. Like on the inside of his arms and calves. Also not feeling it at all. I was annoyed with Shockwave having no tampo's, but at least we were given the option. If that toon insignia is in fact tampo'd on, that'd be a shame.Cobotron wrote:And ya, the cartoon insignias are not doing it for me.![]()

Sure. Hasbro Asia would be a likely candidate for the job. And with Delta Magnus, Loud Pedal, and the rest of the Diaclone releases, there is precedence that Takara does do toy influenced decos. So....Omegatrion84 wrote:I'd say if Hasbro were to release MP-36 you guys would be in luck since they typically like to go the toy route with their decos. Sadly we know Hasbro won't touch this Megatron with a 10 foot pole. Maybe there's hope in a Hasbro Asia release that homages the toy?

I am not certain lena will have it. If it's made in Vietnam then they won't
