The flaws for this toy are less 'death of a thousand cuts' for me, and more 'death by several large stab wounds'. The feet, the backpack, the head, the price... It's just borderline insulting to me.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Worth noting is that even tho the Classic Pretender is supposed to be Bumblebee, the head sculpt is clearly based on CliffjumperWould be pretty funny if TakaraTomy sneaked that one in somewhere.
Pretender Bumblebee as Cliffjumper would have been an amazing BotCon exclusive back in the day. Toss in Pretender Skywarp and Pretender Thundercracker along with Pretender Ricochet and that would have made for a cool set.

This and MP-44 should be scrapped, recalled, and their plastic melted down and re-dyed to make something worthwhile like replacement Dark Crumplezone fins. Same for MPM Ironhide.

It killed me to do this but I just canceled MP-45. It never looked 100% right and I could've handled that, what I couldn't handle was the possibility nothing would peg together well, even if the TonTon review copy was an "Early" sample, I just couldn't take the chance.

I'll admit my opinion is much higher of him than before. For what he does, I am impressed with it. Am I 100$ impressed? Nope, not at all, when I can get the far superior MMC Bruticus limb bots for that kinda money, or even the original MP Bee for 60% less.
The engineering and articulation is nice, and I like the idea of wheels folding into a cavity. The backpack isn't as bad as I thought anymore, nor is the feet kibble.
The face is still atrocious however.
Overall, he's... ok
I won't cry over getting him, nor will I want to get him in the future, but if someone gives me one as a gift, I won't complain.

My personal belief is that the designers made bee like this on purpose to protest the way the mp line is heading, taking a stand against obsessive cartoon accuracy

Yeah. I figured MP-33 Inferno would usher in a new era of smart engineering and clean backs, but... yeah.
I was watching the show the other day and wondered how Takara will over-complicate Jazz. The previous head-designer said that animated characters with transformation similar to their toys, like Prowl, are easier to pull off. I think Jazz falls into that category. So hopefully they will take that approach when it's his turn. It'd be cool if they work out his wings in a way that you can either hide or display them (for the sake of the inevitable toy-accurate "Plus" edition, for those that prefers it.)
