That is really sad, and it is also really none of our business.

Edit (an addition): I believe she did this as a publicity stunt like "Wacko Jacko" Michael Jackson just to get her name more well known. It is highly unlikely that she is a transvestite and, but I still say it is none of our business and who really cares anyway?

Don't believe it: look at her ankles and wrists and the way her shoulders are set into sockets. These are key differences between men and women. She's a chick.

I don't think she's all that hot, myself. In fact, during most of the 'hot' scenes during the TF movie, she just generally looked *pissed off*. I know, I know, I wasn't supposed to be looking at her *face* at those scenes, as she's draped over an engine block, but I was.

Ok you DO know that the Weekly World News is a humour-publication, much like the Onion, right? It's one of those silly news papers you get in a checkout line that says things like "Ape-baby made president of Algeria" and other such nonsense...

Ummm, yes I do know that about WWN. (I teach Journalism and Mass Media classes). I also know it's a tabloid, that it's only virtual now, and that it's never sued for its outrageous stories because no one would stoop so low as recognize the idiocy it peddles as 'truth'.

But it's not a 'humor publication like _the Onion_'. One is satire (the Onion) and one is just yellow journalism, of the William Randolph Hearst type (same guy who said, "You furnish the pictures, I'll furnish the war.") It does not deliberately try to be funny, just outrageous.

HK, who was just trying to share her hard-won knowledge on how to spot tranny hookers. Remember, children, 'knowing is half the battle'.

We had a radio station here that would do a segment about stories from the WWN. At the end of the story, they would always say "They can't print it if it's not true" or some nonsense.

I do find it hard to believe no one has sued them though. That was the first thing that came to mind when I read this.

Sure, it's the USA, let's just sue the crap out of everyone. I'm going to sue Michael Bay for making Starscream so ugly. (Though, he's kinda grown on me, I'll admit). And for...whatever you want to call what he did to Jazz (I think we can all agree that Jazz getting ripped apart might count as a mercy-killing).

Seriously, what you'd be looking at is a suit for libel. To prove libel, you have to prove that damage of some significant sort has been done--you lost your job, or your income took a whack, or your property got damaged as a result of someone reading and believing this lie. You can't prove damages, you can't really win the suit, so why bring it? You'd be wasting your own money on a lawyer and wouldn't even win (and you'd clog the courts--could you imagine if EVERYONE ever slandered in tabloids sued at once?!)

Megan Fox is not going to get one less dollar or one less job offer because of the WWN story. Hence: not libel.

On the same note: in grocery store the other day I saw a tabloid pitching something about an 'Obama gay scandal'. You think our President ought to sue for that? Or mayhap he has better things to do with his time?

Nah that was totally Michael Bay's subtle way of telling people that the negro community should be viciously mutilated.
