I don't know, I just think the whole. "If you don't support this movie, your not a true transformers fan" thing is like the whole "If you don't support the war in Iraq, your UnAmerican" thing.. its not right to label people that way...It reminds me of the McCarthy era stuff...

And as far as my earlier comments in large caps, it wasn't meant to be directed at any one person, and certainly not against Burn, i like Burn.. and value His/Her opinion.. I was simply taking a shot at the "you should be glad your even getting a Transformers movie" mentality that seems to waft itself up like a bad burp, over and over again...especailly when anyone has a disagreement with decisions regarding the Movie..

Agreed. I can think of many films with better action sequences than what Bay has done. He is totally overrated in this regard.

So what he has lips? Funny nobody complained about the older transformers having mouths, but for the movie you guys have to hate for the sake of hate. How do we know Prime keeps the faceplate? Maybe its just at the end? Or the beginning? From all the toys and promos, Prime has his faceplate so that means HE MUST HAVE IT ON FOR A LONG TIME, otherwise he wouldnt be recognized. Think about it

The movie isnt even finished, I can see why Bay and Co. wanted to keep all the leaked stuff secret, because its unfinished. I know id rather see the finished product, then work in progress. Perhaps Bay wanted to save the internet from all the "WAAAH BAY KILLED TRANSFORMERS MY LIFE IS RUINED NOOOO." crap. Seriously please, before i lose my sanity, GROW THE F@CK UP!

OOOH, OOOH I can answer! Cuz Bay is the anti-christ and stupid and shouldn't have been given the privilege to direct OUR movie. And we're stupid jerks for wanting to see it and not hoping it crashes and burns. Cuz we all know that when this flick flops, Hasbro gonna hand the film rights over to someone we want, cuz that'll turn a better profit cuz the true fans are the only thing that matters, and the true fans are the only ones who are gonna see the movie.

Wow, reading posts here is like watching a good soap opera. Lots of cool drama without all the sappy romance.

I have no Transformers toys and only a single issue comic book. Nothing else of Transformers. But I'm still a fan :grin:

I don't know whether this movie will soar or flop, I just hope it isn't a forgettable flick that has no substance. Too many movies are like that, sadly.

This movie will not erase any of the previous installments of Transformers, and there are stories of the various continuities that are still being written even today. If this movie flops, I will not say that Transformers is ruined or has died, I will just go back to what I like and forget about it. Transformers is only dead when there are no more fans and everybody has lost interest in them.

If the movie is REAL bad, the only way we would get a movie we really wanted is if we did it ourselves. Find someone who is a fan and who is talented, and help fund the effort. There are a lot of talented unknowns out there, and that movie might be the thing that makes them the next Speilburg.

And like I said before, if you wanna argue then go for it. Just be able to back it up with some actual thought out replies. The best I got so far is Burn trying to prod me into a personal attack on him(Which I think I fulfilled nicely) but making it look like if I did say something that I started it. And then Lucky the Lama basically diving down into the "At least we're getting a Transformers Movie!" depths. Yeah and at least we got a Catwoman,Daredevil and LXG movies to. I'm sure your life is a lil brighter each day just for those jewels existing in the same reality as you huh?

That's fair enough, absolutely. Saying we're getting a TF movie isn't in itself a justifiable reason for liking the movie, as far as I can see. (Someone can counteract that point if they wish.)

What I didn't understand about your post was why this movie being bad or a failure is enough for you to almost lose your love of Transformers, when it won't affect the animation cels that you're interested in.

If you're not interested in the comics or toys or whatever, that's fine. I fully support that because, to be frank, I don't know anyone else who's even interested in the cels, let alone collects them, so I find that fascinating because I'm also interested in cels and the animation process in general (and, by extension, your collection).

It's just that I can't see why this film would put you off what you've already invested time and (presumably) money in. If someone said the same thing about their comic collection, or their toys (which people have said in the past), I would ask them the same thing. Why does it change the previous twenty years of history?

And skywarp-2, CAPSLOCK is bad form! You should know better, chap!

I think there is precedent for it, considering McCarthy went after Comic Books as a deviant product for young people..

Now this is something I need to see a factual citation on. The attacks on comics books came about during the McCarthy era and were similar, but Joseph McCarthy was not the one behind the attacks, that was Frederic Wertham. And again, what is the similarity between these and in-fighting between fans over a Transformers movie, outside of the vague connection to the "With us or Against us" argument? It belittles the importance of these events to connect them to such a trivial matter.
