I'm not sure why this reference gets repeatedly mentioned. Bay is not the only action director. And there are other types of action sequences beside car chases.

Not a kick ass action movie with giant robots that happen to turn into cars. Maybe he should go make Bad Boys 3 so that way he cant do the next movie. Id rather see him make another Bad Boys than another TF movie. The next movie needs to be for the fans. Frak the evreyday movie goers. Give us a movie.
I seriously belive that some people should lose their privelage of having the internet
NOOOOOOOOOOO I DONT WANT A KICK ASS MOVIE WITH GIANT ROBOTS TURNING INTO CARS I WANT A TRANSFORMERS MOVIE!? What is wrong with you people!? Isnt "Transformers" a show that has giant robots turning into everyday objects and vehicles that go around kicking ass?
UHHH WE NEED A MOVIE FOR THE FANS
Who do you think these adaptations appeal too? The fans. Who do you think help make box office gross? The fans. If for anybody this movie is appealing too, its the fans. You heard the writers, they tried giving all these characters the personalities closest to their G1 counterparts. While adding a more modern feel to it for not just the fans, but the average movie goers
NOOOO PRIME HAS LIPS WHYYYYYYYY!?
So what he has lips? Funny nobody complained about the older transformers having mouths, but for the movie you guys have to hate for the sake of hate. How do we know Prime keeps the faceplate? Maybe its just at the end? Or the beginning? From all the toys and promos, Prime has his faceplate so that means HE MUST HAVE IT ON FOR A LONG TIME, otherwise he wouldnt be recognized. Think about it
The movie isnt even finished, I can see why Bay and Co. wanted to keep all the leaked stuff secret, because its unfinished. I know id rather see the finished product, then work in progress. Perhaps Bay wanted to save the internet from all the "WAAAH BAY KILLED TRANSFORMERS MY LIFE IS RUINED NOOOO." crap. Seriously please, before i lose my sanity, GROW THE F@CK UP!

You're comparing an argument over a Transformers movie to Joseph McCarthy and the Communist witch hunts? There is no comparison between the two.

Yeah. These transformers arguments are much more divisive to the country

Come on. I thought we got this out of our collective systems several pages ago.

Ya still got late bloomers here.

I have this horrible hunch that in the next little while, we're going to be overwhelmed with forum newbies posting caps-locked things like "OMG there's a Transformer movie just so you know" and "Is Soundwave gonna be in it he should be in it and should be a tapedeck".

Michael Bay may direct TF2?

Actually I don't know if it will be a success.
None of us do, hence why we should remain open-minded and not be so dismissive just yet.
It may flop. It may be excellent.
I apologise I meant to congratulate you guys and the fans like you who have kept an open mind. After I got over my initial joyful reaction that we were finally getting a live action movie I became a little bit cautious after seeing what damage Hollywood can do. But so far I have liked everything I have seen (Even Starscream is growing on me) so I was merely giving my opinion that I think this movie will succeed.
Oh, don't worry about it, no-one was having a go at you. You're right to be of the opinion that the mvoie will be a success if that's what you genuinely think. We were just clarifying our own stances. It's all pleasant in this meadow, my friend.
Mace13 wrote:I dunno where the hell you guys are getting that stuff about me saying what it takes to be a real fan. Just because i'm proud of my cel collection and was showing it off don't mean crap. No where did I say "This is what it takes to be a REAL fan!!". Anyone that knows anything about cel collecting would probably find my collection impressive.I just happened to focus my TF collecting on animation cels instead of the toys. I find it more fulfilling. To each his own.
And like I said before, if you wanna argue then go for it. Just be able to back it up with some actual thought out replies. The best I got so far is Burn trying to prod me into a personal attack on him(Which I think I fulfilled nicely) but making it look like if I did say something that I started it. And then Lucky the Lama basically diving down into the "At least we're getting a Transformers Movie!" depths. Yeah and at least we got a Catwoman,Daredevil and LXG movies to. I'm sure your life is a lil brighter each day just for those jewels existing in the same reality as you huh?
That's fair enough, absolutely. Saying we're getting a TF movie isn't in itself a justifiable reason for liking the movie, as far as I can see. (Someone can counteract that point if they wish.)
What I didn't understand about your post was why this movie being bad or a failure is enough for you to almost lose your love of Transformers, when it won't affect the animation cels that you're interested in.
If you're not interested in the comics or toys or whatever, that's fine. I fully support that because, to be frank, I don't know anyone else who's even interested in the cels, let alone collects them, so I find that fascinating because I'm also interested in cels and the animation process in general (and, by extension, your collection).
It's just that I can't see why this film would put you off what you've already invested time and (presumably) money in. If someone said the same thing about their comic collection, or their toys (which people have said in the past), I would ask them the same thing. Why does it change the previous twenty years of history?
And skywarp-2, CAPSLOCK is bad form! You should know better, chap!
