Actually Bay wouldnt make the movie if he hadnt liked Transformers.
He visited Hasbro, learned some crap abou the series, probably watched every episode.

He only was interested because he gets to stage these high action dramatic fights. That's the only thing he wants and probably why he ignores the typical tf fan.
