Lol! I have to agree with you there. I know the band has changed a lot from their "glory" days but I still enjoyed their stuff (especially the TF movie themes). Granted, I haven't listened to some of the full tracks, but the ones I did were kinda crappy. I don't know why I'm not digging their new style, but it ain't Linkin Park :???:

All I've heard so far is the Catalyst and new divide. And that definitely didn't sound like one of their band's music. It was a Chester solo project, if anything. New divide's not bad though.

New Divide isn't part of the album. The album is a mix of dark hiphop, mellow easy rock, and remixed audio files that are about 1 minute long. The Catalyst is just kinda thrown in there and stands out. It seems like Linkin Park is trying to distance themselves from everything they are known for, everything that made them famous.

Having had a chance to listen to the whole thing, I'm a bit ambivalent. Some songs are catchy but there's no real coherent theme or style.

I will up the ante on that and say that I'm glad I made the decision to not purchase anything EVER from this band.

Agreed. Linkin Park...no thanks. They should've had Black Label Society do the themes, IMO!

I know I'm inviting a lot of hate right now, but I've been listening to the album all morning, even as I type this, and I really like it.
I'll admit it's miles from some of the awesome stuff they've done before, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It could be that I came into listening to it expecting something drastically different from their usual style, but I'm also just really digging their turn to embracing more of the electronic musical elements that they've played with in the past. The album is by no means a masterpiece (quite far from it, in fact) but it's definitely one I'm glad to have.
