The original seekers 30 years ago are still kicking @ss. The F-15 still is in use by the Japanese airforce to scare away Chinese intruders.

The F-35 may be the latest but it is not without hiccups. F-15 still kicks @ss, even eclipsing the F-14 in ranking (sorry Jetfire, 'screamer and his buddies still rules). So hopefully, Hasbro and Tomy doesn't rush in mothballing the F-15 mold for their future toy works. Heck, they haven't retired Powerglide's A-10 Warthog transform mode yet (being one of the best tank killers in Americas arsenal)

Interesting topic.

F-15's are a classic design that IMO are still relevant, given that many are still in service.

As for Hasbro mothballing the F-15 mold, do you mean the V2 MP one or the Classics one? If it's the former, I hope Takara doesn't follow suit, as I'm still waiting for my proper TT MP Skywarp and Thundercracker.

Has Hasbro mothballed anything? I thought it was just whoever makes those exclusive redecos for cons or clubs or whatever was not gonna use it any more.

As everything is change in TF, the latest seekers not to mention the recent retool of Jetfire for the Seeker mold, the jet no longer looks like the original F-15.

So we shouldn't believe everything you read in the web and maybe 50% is like accurate. Not to mention that these articles may just be shill pieces too but "being new and shiny does not always mean its the best" seems to be the resonating theme in these articles.

Relevance to our hobby? Even the good old Fighting Falcon F-16 (Dreadwind, Skydive) and the Eagle F-15 (Airraid and the Seekers)floors down the F-35 ATF. Heck, even the Warthog (aka Powerglide) is a much praised killing machine.

Kind of like a self fulfilling prophecy that the Legends Jetfire is molded from what looks like the F-22. Jetfire's original bio has him full of technical glitches due to his many upgrades. Well, the real F-22 is said to have lot's of limitations despite being "high tech". Now we we have the upcoming F-35 and the future does not look good at all.

Too much advancement for the sake without even testing the product? Haven't we experienced these issue too? Sure, not on the level of national defence but we had our sad droopy head henkei IH and Ratchet. Short neck henkei Octane or exploding shoulders MP-09 Hotrodimus/Rodimus Convoy. Not to mention walking disaster but still love him cause I never transformed him MP-05 Megs?

R and D seems to have been pushed behind the backburner for the sake of releasing a bling bling new product when it isn't even ready or necessary.
